Finding Hot Selling Items and Niches on Shopify - Ninja Strategy Video Lecture | Shopify tutorial: Build your Shopify Store (English) - E-Commerce

alright guys so we're inside the Shopify
App Store and in this video I'm going to
show you how you can be a ninja and spy
on competitors and see what their best
selling products are and find new niches
new products for your current niche for
a current store and things like that so
we're just gonna hop right into it so in
the app store I'm gonna go and sort by
popular and I'm just going to open up
one of these apps real quick so we'll go
free shipping bar and come down to the
reviews let's see
craft basket that sounds pretty
interesting so you're going to open up
one of these stores and yeah this looks
like a pretty legitimate store so what
you can do is I'm gonna open up a
notepad you can take this bit of text
right here I'll leave it on the screen
for a second or pause the video and you
copy it and then come up to the URL and
paste it in and what it will do is it
will order the store by best-selling
products so the best selling products in
the store are these so it's best selling
product overall is this balancing tree
and then followed by a wood eggshaker so
if anyone wants to hop in the wood
eggshaker niche this is probably going
to sell pretty well so there's two ways
you can use this strategy of looking at
best selling products one is if you
already have a store you can use it on
your competitors stores to see if
they're selling any items that you're
not into you can use it in this type of
fashion where you're going to find
niches and find products so if you don't
have a store yet or you're trying to
launch a new store and you're looking on
what products you want to base it around
you can browse the App Store and open up
different stores from app reviews
and see what they're selling now if
you're going to look through the app
store when it comes to finding new
dishes to base a store around you're
going to want to go back to popular but
you're probably not going to want to pay
attention to the reviews on the free
apps and the reason I say that is
because the stores you want to be
looking for our successful stores and
I'm not saying that unsuccessful stores
all use free apps and no successful
stores do use free apps most likely if
you're looking at a more expensive paid
app per month than that stores most
likely going to be profiting and making
money so if you want a better chance of
finding a hotter niche or better selling
items if you're looking for something
based your store around it's better off
to look for apps that are priced a
little bit higher so let's see if we can
find one all right so just for the sake
of time I'm going to open up this one
product up so it's cheapest ten dollars
but it can go up to $60 a month so most
likely people using this app especially
the more expensive version are going to
be people that are making a decent
amount of money with their store now
obviously the more expensive the app you
look for the better of odds that their
store is going to be profitable so let's
see Gary pick here let's let's open this
one up

like this that are named here gear stuff
so this seems to be a general store we
got pillows blankets phone cases horse
necklaces so yeah this is a completely
random we got 3d cat socks and this is
actually pretty funny that cat looks
pretty pissed off so what you would do
is just come back up here
I'll paste the denim we'll see what
their bestsellers are so their best
seller is this silver-plated horse
necklace and it's no surprise that their
best sellers are there free plus
shipping offers so I guess the horse
niche here is wide open and this is
another example of why general stores
are also really good because you can
just go guns blazing with a bunch of
free plus shipping offers just random
hot items so this is a pretty good way
to find hot items so you can pretty much
assume that these top four top five
items are pretty hot selling considering
this is a store that reviewed a
high-ticket app and obviously what you
can do from here is you can take these
items and plug them in the watch count
and confirm if they're hot sewing but
yeah these items are probably items that
you can source straight from Aliexpress
I would assume that that's where these
guys are getting them from so you can
see just from 5-10 minutes looking to
the Shopify app store looking at reviews
you can spy on a couple stores see what
their best selling products are and then
you can start a niche store or general
store based off of these products that
you already know are not selling based
off of other people's sites now the
second thing you can do with this spying
ninja strategy here is spy on your
competition so let's say that you
already have a store and like the horse
niche or something and you want to make
sure that you're keeping up with the
latest trends in your niche and you want
to see what's hot selling and maybe you
know you're already doing while you're
making some money but you want to make
sure that there isn't a new item that's
selling a lot that you're missing out on
because there always could be an item
that you just you know you didn't see
that you didn't find so what you can do
to see what your competitors are selling
is go on Facebook and what you'll do
from there is you'll like all of the
pages related to your niche so if you're
in the Ornish you would just go like a
bunch of horse
and pages and things of the sort and
from there you'll notice that in the
next few days you're going to start
getting targeted with course ads like
you might even get targeted with this
person's ad essentially you want to go
like the pages that you are targeting
with your ads and just pretty much like
every possible page in your niche as you
can start where you get targeted with a
lot of competitors ads and what you do
is when you see the competitors ads
you're going to want to click them here
you want to check out the Facebook page
and see all their posts either PPC ads
things of the sort and then you want to
go to their site and you want to check
out their site see if they're doing
anything or not see if they got products
that you're not selling and then
obviously paste this into the URL so
that way you can see what their best
selling products are and if you're not
selling some of those best selling
products it's probably best to start
selling those and start running ads to
them because they're proven to be hot
selling so this is a pretty easy way
simple way fast way that you can find
some extra hot selling items or find
some brand new hot selling items to
start a new store around so if this
