so if you ever found yourself asking the
question why exactly do people like
myself and other e-commerce youtubers
and gurus as some people call them why
do we make videos like this so let's
just cut through any BS and just skip
straight to the number one reason why I
myself and every other person that puts
out content on e-commerce why we put out
this content so this is going to be the
number one reason why all of us are
making these types of videos and not
surprisingly the reason is right here
it's the money now I'm not just gonna
leave it at that we're gonna dive a
little more into it
so obviously teaching ecommerce or
teaching any type of business skill or
any type of life skill is a business of
its own and I know a lot of people a lot
of gurus or whatever you want to call
them they'll you know give all these
reasons as to why they're making these
videos like they're trying to make the
world a better place
or you know they're trying to make
themselves look like the second coming
of like Mother Teresa or something and
I'm not talking about anyone in specific
but I noticed a lot of gurus e-commerce
teachers whatever they're just in
internet marketing in general none of
them will actually just come out right
and say that the reason that they're
making these types of videos that
they're teaching people is because it's
good money it's a profitable business
obviously there's other reasons that
come into play for doing stuff like this
like for example personally I like being
able to help out aspiring entrepreneurs
because it's such a small percentage of
people you know on the planet that want
to start a business
will actually succeed in business so if
I can play a part in helping a new
entrepreneur to you know make their
first dollars and eventually start and
be running a profitable business in the
future that's a pretty cool feeling now
is that the number one reason why I put
out ecommerce content and why I started
this brand as a whole No
the number one reason I did is for this
and that's the same across every other
YouTube channel every other guru or
whatever you want to call them every
person that's teaching e-commerce the
number one reason is gonna be the same
now being able to help out the community
and bring value is really cool and it
feels good when you get messages and you
get any mails and some you know really
likes it when you get testimonials
someone really likes your content and
you know being able to help somebody you
know make their first dollars online
it's a really cool feeling but I'm not
gonna sit here and lie to you guys if
this business as a whole wasn't making
me money I wouldn't be doing it now that
being said that's going to obviously
lead to the question of well why do guru
or teachers even make these types of
videos if they are doing well with
e-commerce and they're already making
money from that business well the first
and simplest answer is already right
here money but let's make an addition to
this more money so let's say you have
business a and business a as a child fly
store and it's doing pretty well and
let's say you have business B it's
another Shopify store and it's doing
pretty well too so you have two really
good Shopify stores let's say you've
been through trial and error maybe you
add you know maybe it took you a year or
two to get those stores doing well maybe
you had a lot of failed stores before
that either way the point is you have
two successful Shopify e-commerce stores
now and you feel pretty comfortable with
being able
to tell somebody how you did that so you
feel comfortable teaching how you were
able to attain the success you have with
that store so if you take the
information you know from the experience
you have and then you put out content
like these videos like paid courses and
things like that you're essentially
creating another Shopify store another
ecommerce store except all this is is a
different business model but it's based
on the same premise of knowledge that
you already know so you're already using
the skill you have which is e-commerce
and then you're just using your
marketing skill which you already have
from e-commerce because in order to do
well in e-commerce you have to be good
at marketing so using your marketing
skill to market your knowledge which is
in turn creating another business which
leads to more money and not only does it
lead to more money it leads to income
diversification so I don't know if you
guys have heard the same that the
average millionaire has seven sources of
income seven different sources of income
but that holds true and you look at a
lot of wealthy people all their income
is never coming from one source so a lot
of newcomers when they're trying to you
know learn ecommerce or any type of
skill they're like well why are these
gurus teachers or whatever and I keep
doing this burgers because I really hate
that word and I don't like to associate
myself with it but why are these people
making these videos if they already have
a successful business well it's simple
it's because they want not only they
want to increase their income so they
want to increase the revenue but they
also want to increase the amount of
sources that rather than it was coming
from because the more income sources you
have the safer your foundation really is
because let's say you have 10 income
sources and two of them just explode
they just go bankrupt do you know like
you have the physical business someone
sets the building on fire or something
so for some reasons where your business
is exploded you stopped eight more
income sources that are bringing in
money for you so so why do people make
videos like this and start these types
of brands and sell information and
knowledge ball
simple it's because it's smart business
if you if you can make money off a skill
and then you're actively using that
skill and you have experience you know
in that sector that industry and then
you can teach it as well
you now are making more money off of the
same skill and you've also diversified
your income so it's a win-win so that's
the business side the financial side as
to why people like myself and everyone
else makes these type of videos now
another reason behind it is when you
have a following when you have a big
audience of people not only does that
grow that business itself but it also
opens up a lot of other opportunities
for you so having a big audience opens
doors that you otherwise couldn't go
through so maybe you get invited to
speak in advance maybe certain big
players reach out to you because you're
branding yourself and getting bigger and
becoming a big player of your own so
that's another reason having a big
audience can definitely open up doors
that can't be opened if you don't have a
big audience so those are the main
reasons why people are starting these
types of brands and making these types
of videos because it makes it's another
revenue source and it's a different type
of revenue source too because digital
products they are very low upfront cost
and higher profit margins than physical
products however the disadvantage of
digital products is usually a physical
product is something that you can brand
like a lot larger like if I'm talking
like really big so if you're going for
like just think of the clothing
companies and things like that but you
can scale that stuff up huge versus the
whole digital guru type thing I mean
other than like Tony Robbins and people
like that you're not really going to
scale that up as big as you could scale
a physical product business so each have
their pros and cons so in my mind doing
both
diversifying income and it's just plain
smart business so that's why myself and
people around make these types of videos
so now that you know why people create
these videos let's get to the point of
this video which is how do you know if
you can trust these gurus how do you
know who to listen to and which
information is valid now the main reason
I wanted to make this video is actually
because I've noticed over the past six
or seven months new gurus and e-commerce
people teaching e-commerce and popping
up left and right on youtube people I've
never heard of before
back when I started the channel about
two years ago really the only person I
had heard of that was teaching
e-commerce at the time was Dan de Silva
and obviously he's still around now and
I like there and that could be partially
due to the fact that we're both part of
the beamer fam but anyway with all of
the new people teaching e-commerce left
and right it's hard that I can see how
it can be hard for a newcomer to tell
well who should I listen to how do I
know if this person is telling the truth
who's legit who's not who you know just
where do I go because you're getting
information overload and there's not
just a couple of us making videos
anymore there's probably hundreds of
people out there making e-commerce
videos now so who do you listen to
because while you want to believe that a
lot of people do have you know good
intentions and they're actually you know
real and they actually know what they're
talking about and the majority of people
do but I'm sure there are a couple
people out there that just have no idea
what they're talking about unfortunately
so when it comes to deciding who you
should follow any Congress the first
thing you obviously would want to do is
determine if they're legit or not and
that's pretty easy to do I mean all you
really
if someone's legit and they're actually
practicing what they preach then they'll
have some sort of case study on their
channel they'll have a video case study
a case study on their website whatever
it's usually pretty easy to tell who's
looking
and then who's just regurgitating
information from other people's videos
and putting out react content so
personally I feel like it's pretty easy
to differentiate be able to tell the
difference another thing you can look
for is just how long have these people
that around so if somebody just started
making videos like a month ago I'm not
saying that they're automatically not
legit but maybe they might need to show
more proof than somebody who's been
steady putting out contact for over a
year now so those are a couple of
factors that can come into play but the
main one that you really want to focus
on when it comes to who should who
shouldn't be who should you be listening
to is honestly just who you resonate
best with so who's teaching style do you
like this because the majority of people
online teaching e-commerce the majority
of them they know what they're talking
about and they're worthy of being
followed so if that's the case if
there's a bunch of people that know what
they're talking about from there what
you really need to do is just pick who's
teaching style you like better so for
example my teaching style is very just
straightforward to the point I try to
eliminate anything that it's just I just
try to eliminate all row Gnaeus
information and skip straight to the
point and some people like that
information some people like that style
of information delivery and then some
people don't so you need to find the
teacher whose information delivery is
best for you so who's teaching style do
you resonate with who you to learn from
the most a cake and even just be who do
you like to notice really whose
personality like it doesn't really
matter you just need to pick somebody
who you personally feel can get you to
where you want to be if that's me that's
great if that's Dan that's great if
that's somebody else that's great
so all in all can you trust the majority
of Shopify viewers out there I'd say
yeah you can the majority of people are
putting out
information now now I have come across a
few that I personally felt were a little
shady but I'm not gonna name any names
or anything in this video I feel like
that it's kind of obvious to tell you
know who's more trustworthy and who
isn't but the main point of this video
was just to convey the intention of
every single person out there that
teaches e-commerce the intention is
obviously the same it's to create an
education basic business and a business
obviously generates money and I know
there's a lot of people in the comments
I've seen not just on my videos but on a
lot of people's videos to get angry when
you know people like myself or other
people teaching ecommerce offer paid
courses and it really doesn't make any
sense because that's almost like
somebody going into a college and the
same well I want to learn an engineering
but I don't really want to pay for it
you should teach me for free I mean I
don't really see how learning a business
skill is any different than learning a
skill like that they're both going to
make you money and you can both make a
career out of it
no I do understand how it's kind of it
may seem kind of sketchy when the person
is just up there saying that they're
only putting out content for the good of
the world because they're the second
coming of Jesus and then they're
pitching you their product a second
later now I mean I'm not saying that's a
bad thing on their part personally
that's not really my style I'll just be
straight-up honest I've created casual
e-commerce as a business and as a
business I would like it to make money
just like my e-commerce stores I like
them to make money that's why all of us
start businesses is to make money and
casual e-commerce is another business
now one more thing to keep in mind I
don't want this video to drag on too
long I know it's been
out of a ramble session but the one
other thing I did want to mention is
that in order for a business to grow and
sustain itself over a decent amount of
time the product actually has to be good
because if the product isn't good then
customers aren't going to keep coming
back and you know they're gonna get the
business is gonna get bad reviews bad
ratings or whatever people aren't gonna
recommend it and the business is gonna
die out so what does that mean in
relation to shop five doors e-commerce
features it means that if the econ
teachers if the gurus aren't putting out
good content then their business is
going to wither out and die if their
courses aren't good it's not going to
sell it may sell a few times upfront but
it's not going to continuously sell over
time if the product which is the
information isn't good
so that's the point I wanted to make so
that's why when I say wait who should
you follow if you look around for brands
and people that have been around for a
longer time that are still growing still
getting bigger still putting out more
content if they've been around for this
long if they've had courses up for this
long obviously their product or
information is good so obviously they're
doing something right they're customers
for the most part are satisfied their
audience is happy with them they like
them make you following them so that's a
good sign when it comes to who you
should follow and who you should trust
so that being said I'm gonna wrap this
video up here before it drags on too
