Shopify Product Research - How To COPY The BIGGEST Stores Online Video Lecture | Shopify tutorial: Build your Shopify Store (English) - E-Commerce

what's up guys this is Jake with casual
e-commerce and in this video we're going
to be getting into a secret trick that
you can quickly use to spy on all of the
top Shopify stores organized by the
amount of daily traffic they're getting
and I'm gonna show you how you can do
this in the next five minutes so you can
look at these stores see what they're
doing and you know maybe implement some
of their tactics into you your own
stores see what their best selling
products are and so on and so forth so
with that being said let's go ahead and
hop into my computer and let me show you
exactly how to do this alright guys so
getting right into the strategy first
off you're gonna need to go to a site
called my IP dot M s so my IP dot M s
and then you're gonna come to this site
right here where you can check you can
look up IP addresses and see the source
and such so what we're gonna do is we're
gonna look up the IP address of Shopify
which I have right here so I'll have
this in the description so you don't
have to remember it but it's 23 point
two to seven point three eight point
zero and we're gonna paste it in here
and then we're gonna look it up and you
can see that this is Shopify's IP
address right here so now we're gonna
look for other sites on IP because
whenever you start a store with Shopify
you're gonna be on the same ip address
as their headquarters obviously because
you're going through Shopify hosting so
we're gonna look up all the other sites
on Shopify is IP and you can see here we
have a list of 15 sites here that are on
Shopify is IP and right now they're
shorted but are sorted by world site pop
popular rating which is essentially just
how much traffic each site is getting
but we're gonna go ahead and go to view
all records so now once you here you can
see this is showing the first 50 of
fifty five thousand five hundred and
sixty-two records so we can take a look
at fifty five thousand five
62 Shopify sites so what we're gonna do
is click here to sort it by popular
rating again so now this is going to be
the number one site hosted on Shopify
based off of traffic and it's going to
be in this order so if we go ahead and
just I'm gonna open this up real quick
just to show you you can see this site
colour-pop is getting two hundred and
four thousand visitors per day on
average so that's a decent amount of
traffic keep in mind when you're looking
at this stuff that it's sorted by
traffic not by sales so there is it
doesn't mean that just because
something's getting a lot of traffic
it's getting a lot of sales however most
likely traffic is typically going to
correlate with sales because no one's
gonna be driving that much traffic if
they're not seeing it ROI so basically
what you can do is we can sit here and
we can look at all of the top sites on
the Shopify IP and we can see what
they're doing so we're just gonna go
ahead and open up a couple of these to
show you in the video now I've actually
already looked through the first five or
six pages of these and I can see the
most popular things I've seen are like
makeup and like female beauty so this
this type of stuff and then there's a
ton of apparel so let's see fashion over
this is probably apparel and there's a
ton of apparel stores yep this is
apparel and then there's a lot of stores
that sell like vaping products and stuff
for people that uh you know vape or
smoke so there's people that sell vaping
products and then people that are
selling like balls and stuff so pretty
interesting to see what type of stores
are up top and you can use this to
brainstorm let's go and open up a random
one down here yeah this is probably one
I'm not gonna open up right there let's
keep going when I was looking at this
last night I remember seeing Kylie
Jenner's thought yep there it is yeah I
remember her store seeing this one last
night so this is obvious
the kylie jenner store her products and
stuff I saw a couple other notable
stores on here when I was looking
through I saw Grant Cardone store I saw
a couple note of notable clothing brands
and such so essentially you can just
come in here and look at any of these
stores just open them up and then just
see what they're selling now most of the
bigger stores are probably not going to
be dropship in stores they're probably
gonna be you know they're gonna be a big
company with all their stuff set up and
everything with in-house fulfillment and
everything set up but that doesn't mean
that you can't learn from how they
design their sites and things of the
sort and when I was looking through
actually as I said I looked through the
first five or six pages and I found a
decent bit of drop shipping stores that
you can look through and reference now
I'm not going to now I don't remember
them off the top of my head and I'm not
gonna go through and search through five
or six pages 200-250 sites all on this
video you can just go and do that on
your own however there was a decent
amount of drop shipping stores on there
there was a couple big general drop
shipping stores I remember there was a
pretty big cat one that had some nice
brand you know in there and stuff it was
a good looking store so hopefully you
can use this tactic to at the very least
learn from what other stores are doing
or maybe you can use it to find niches
or find products you want to sell fun
and that you want to get into and things
like that so what that means said give
