titles so let's get going
hey there everybody welcome back my name
is Garrett Pearson author of how to
write a book ASAP I want to talk today
about your chapter titles yesterday and
day 14 we talked about the title of your
book today I want to talk to talk about
chapter titles and we're gonna be
reading some more from my book how to
write a book ASAP the step-by-step guide
to writing your first book fast now some
of you might still be wondering Garrett
why am i creating the title of my book
in chapter titles I just want to write
well remember you are creating the form
the the forming the core
excuse me forming the core of your book
this is gonna help guide and direct you
on what it is that you're going to be
writing about okay so chapter titles are
so important it's really starting that
outline of your book now on page 77 of
my book I teach keep the chapter title
shortened to the point okay
if you become stuck and you feel that
creating your chapter titles is taking
too long you might consider the
following helpful tips the goal of
writing a chapter title is to offer as
accurately as possible the full sense of
the original idea for the chapter but in
in a concise condensed form again make
these these chapter titles catchy and
and make the reader want to read more
okay it should state the main point
purpose intent and supporting details in
three to eight words three to eight
words you should create a title for the
chapter based on what you want to share
with the reader it should be it should
correspond as a division or a portion of
the title of the book as I suggested
with creating the book title go to
amazon.com forward slash books and just
start searching books that you have read
or that you catch your eye you can then
usually click on the book cover where it
says click to look inside and a lot of
times in that when you click to look
inside of the book you can see their
chapter titles now I'm not saying go and
copy their chapter titles I'm just
saying go and check them out it'll get
the again I see I say your creative
juices flowing it'll help you give you
some ideas and I say in the book as a
warning do not copy any ones
book title/subtitle or chapter titles
this is plagiarism and is illegal of
course just use other books as examples
and I did generators don't copy them
word-for-word if you do make sure you
give the original author credit for
those of you writing how-to books focus
on the biggest problems within the realm
of your topic and the book title make
those your chapter headings a tool you
can use to find out problems in your
market is by going to google.com and
searching forum plus your niche keyword
so if golf is your niche keyword still
you go for them plus space golf ok or
plot for them you're gonna look for
forums and you're gonna start searching
what the problems people have okay
you're gonna start searching exactly
what these people are having problems
with so let's say the number one
question is teeing off let's just go
back to the example of golf what is the
biggest mistake golfers make when teeing
off is a great chapter title okay
now the number one mistake golfers make
when teeing off if you spend the time to
research what your market needs chapter
titles will fall into place very easily
again these chapter titles when you're
creating them write them down okay if
you have ten chapters then create ten
chapter titles if you have twenty
chapters and create twenty chapter
titles before you even start writing
these chapters you're creating the
outline you're forming the core of your
book and this is really gonna help you
when you sit down and then tomorrow's

title is really going to help you create
the outline and then when you sit down
to actually write that chapter you're
gonna be so ready because you've
researched you know exactly what you're
gonna be talking about in that chapter
writer's block won't be an issue because
you already know what you're gonna be
