believe that we're already on day 21
only nine days left of this free video
series on how to write your book and how
to finish your book as soon as possible
today we're going to be talking about
the five main points of the writing
process of the writing elements there's
really only five main points and so
let's learn what those are
welcome back everybody my name is
Garrett Pearson author of the book how
to write a book ASAP the step-by-step
guide to writing your first book fast
thank you so much for being with me
through this video series and if you are
just arriving okay and you haven't
watched day one even then here is day
one go back and watch day one of the
series and then start from day one today
we're continuing talking about the
writing process and I told you about
five main points we're gonna go back to
my book on page 100 of my book how to
write a book ASAP okay if you talk to
any writer editor or publisher they will
give you different and varying ideas of
how a book should be written okay
everybody has their own perspective
every expert out there says to do it
this way or that way okay almost
everyone has their own unique idea and
the most effective of the most effective
writing process it ultimately comes down
to these five main points of the writing
process number one a congruent beginning
middle and end okay pretty simple right
but that's really what a book is a
congruent beginning middle and end
number two a main idea number three
effective descriptions effective
description incorporating emotion number
four a well-defined and meaningful
purpose or plot a well-defined and
meaningful purpose or plot this is for
fiction or nonfiction and the last one
number five consistent tone and flow
that is the writing process
okay those five main points really cover
everything in writing whether it's
writing a blog whether it's writing an
article whether it's writing a book
those are the five main things okay and
I say here that is the writing summed up
in most cases it doesn't matter if the
writing is nonfiction fiction s a press
release blog posts or anything else that
you are writing let me be very honest if
you want rules and guidelines on how to
then there are thousands of empty
articles on the subject that seem that
seem to all be relative if you were so
worried about that then there's tons of
information out there you can go to
college you can do all those things but
guess what that's not going to help you
right you just need to sit down and
write let a copy editor somebody that
will edit your book worry about all the
other stuff okay that doesn't mean that
you shouldn't worry about you know
writing a good book because you should
but if you follow those five main points
you're doing a pretty good job then your
book is going to be great okay so you
point being that you just need to start
writing and let your knowledge
experiences and inspiration do the work
if you worry too much about the how the
likelihood of you finishing your book is
slim to none I say here in the book so

he teaches for writer's digest I've

last tip we have touched on this before
but we need to recap the importance of
your writing environment this includes
everything from sleeping eating and
exercise habits to inspiration inducing
room in which you write incident it's
interestingly enough when I was writing
this it says I'm currently writing this
chapter in a room that is cold my feet
are cold and I'm a bit tired this is
affecting the effectiveness of my
writing and how I'm able to engage
myself so as you schedule your time
schedule where you are going to write I
wrote a lot of this book also up at
family cabin okay I love going up there
I tell my wife I'm going I scheduled the
time and I go up and it's peaceful the
rivers there you know I just love it
nobody's bugging me find a place I'm not
saying you have to go to a family cabin
or a cabin or anywhere but find a place
that you're comfortable in it's an
environment that is conducive to you
writing your book that's gonna help you
write successfully so the where is also
a big key to your success in writing
your book so today we talked about the
five main points of the writing process
