Mini Tutorial - Importing traditional sketches (& speedpaint) [SAI] Video Lecture | Paint Tool SAI Tutorial:Become a Design Pro - Graphic Design

hello everyone this is but you're cool
and you're currently watching my mini
tutorial video that I'm making in
response to questions that I've been
getting about how to get traditional
media so usually a sketch into the
digital workspaces so in this case
painful sigh yeah so first things first
you have to scan in your document or
picture however you can you can even
take a picture of it if you want to do
it just really matter and then control
Oh to open it I have mine already here
just open that this is actually what I
make in response to this this is a old
old drawing that I did maybe like three
years ago now and I'm going to do one of
those draw it again means like I do when
I am out of creativity so anyway haha we
will press ctrl-a when we're on that
layer or we can just control click that
layer to select all of it then ctrl-c to
copy it now we will make a new canvas s
control n and we will make it 24 x 300
that's good and now we will press
control D to get it onto this new
can just control t to get into the
editing mode and now you'll notice that
this is horrible so you'll want to hold
shift when you drag this corner to keep
that ratio and height to width ratio so
you don't have a squishy or yeah just a
squishy person no one likes pushing of
some people like squishy and that is ok
now you will go over here select this
bar of bad scanning press D to delete
that I missed a little bit so just using
your race or tool and at this point you
can even go in and edit and whatever you
want to do with that sketch because I
actually didn't give myself enough space
on the paper when I initially sketch
this out so I'm going to include the
rest of that dress and some leg yeah

ok and now that's that now usually what
I'll do is I'll make my sketch a
different color just distinguish it from
my outline when I make it now I'll make
a layer above the sketch go to it
control f to fill it with whatever color
i currently have selected go to the
blend mode go to screen and now that
should be all pretty i'll put it in a
folder to make everything cleaner and
then put that folder blend mode on to
pass that just makes everything
wonderful and tidy now I'll go to my pen
tool and wow look at that I'm already
doing the outline this is great stuff
and yeah the rest of this outlined
coloring finishing this picture
completely will be all sped up and with
that Japanese music we are loved so
dearly
this reference so that colors and stuff
later with that and yeah this is oh my
gosh why am i I'm writing writing stuff
