Create Smooth Opener in After Effects - Complete After Effects Tutorial Video Lecture | Motion Graphics: Master the Art - Graphic Design

hey guys what's up this is Nikhil from
the ocean is calm and welcome to this
brand new offer effects tutorial great
video I'm going to show you guys how to
create this really nice and refreshing
opener in After Effects so without any
further ado let's get straight into the
video and get started alright here we
are
in After Effects so let's start as
always by creating a new composition
which is going to be 1920 into 1080 30
frames and 10 seconds let's rename this
to main this is going to be our main
composition then right off the bat i'm
going to start by creating some shapes
so we've that you can there are two ways
to create it actually the first one is
by reading a new solid and hit OK maybe
I'll just make it become spiced so this
is ctrl shift Y to see the properties
and just make it concise if it wasn't
and the first way is by creating masks
you know you can create masks and then
animate the mass but this can be a
little tedious task so the way I figured
it out to be really cool and effective
was by creating the shapes by linear
wipe so to do that you can just delete
the mask or hit em and then leave the
mask let's align this in the center like
so we have our full shape let's rename
this little one and the thing that I'm
going to do is add an transition that is
called linear wipe so besides the
transition linear wipe and then you can
animate the transition completion you
can change the rotation and you know you
can get the really cool shape so it's
really simple so let's go to let's say
around 2 seconds and I will set the
transition completion to somewhere
around
let's get ready pipe and change the
rotation just somewhere around let's
give it 200 if that looks pretty good
let's create a keyframe by heading on
the stock pot of both the properties go
back in time at the very beginning I
will set this to
all the way up zero and this to
somewhere let's say 150 the tool we have
that is not what we are going for maybe
I'll make it around 250 and yes this
actually looks pretty cool maybe we'll
make it to 40 yeah this looks pretty
good right now so let's select the key
pins at you so we can see all the
keyframes select them and hit X and
release them put a graph editor and I'm
just going to drag it just like so so
now we have something like that so let's
color this up so to color it I'm going
to use gradient map breeding ramp I'm
sorry to duck you just type in gradient
ramp and then you guys set the point
somewhere around there this one to
somewhere around yo and something like
that I'm going to change the color to
whatever color that you want to go with
maybe I'll do something like a dark pink
maybe something like that and this one
you have a purple it looks pretty good
actually
you can go with any color that you want
to go with I don't change the opacity to
around 84 so then what I can do is I can
just duplicate it by hitting ctrl D to
duplicate it if you so we can see the
keyframes and we can change the you know
property of the keyframe animation so
maybe I can make this to around 90
percent and change the rotation to
anything that I want to go with so maybe
something like that you know pretty
random so maybe I'll just go with this
maybe 250 so now we have this really
cool looking animation but as you can
see the gradient is not looking that
good so what I can do is again increase
the ramp scatter to 20% increase the
blend to 50% then it acts to March 2014
yes that must be good and same with this
one penny a drink
now we have something like that can
change the gradient you know a different
position you can also slap the colors
actually to make it look really cool
something like that and a little bit
looks pretty good
maybe the blend is too much I'll make it
10% this will attend for some time as
well so now we have something like that
looks really cool and it's really simple
to create and basically I'm going to do
the same thing so you can create more
and more shades that you want to go with
you create maybe four shapes so let's
set this to around let's say this to
many persons only and video just rotate
it something like there maybe if that
would be good let's make this 180
actually maybe let's make it 200 let's
see or maybe we squeezed this a bit and
see what we can throw it'll make this 85
let's make you super free and that's
going to give us a shape like that I
want something like this get 225 up like
the dark
it's been Posie make it to 25 yep this
is looking pretty good actually
we see the rotation as you do 360 so we
have a different rotation on this and
seen the rotation as well of the second
layer maybe around 260 now we have
something like that you can see a little
bit of difference but it makes it look
really good there we go we have
something like that that is just too
much it's kind of an abstract effect
just need to figure out the right
property you know
keep it somewhere around there let's be
good let's create one more beheading
control-d I'd use it we can see the
keyframes I'm going to set this to 90
let's set this here on to 30 maybe so
we're let's see what looks good maybe
something yes you find something no way
around
yep that looks pretty good to me see you
can also stop the color just to give it
a little bit of different color you know
you look a bit more random and change
the rotation as we also store the value
change right at the beginning actually
and change this to 200 maybe see how it
looks
yup that isn't pretty good actually
liking it
yeah so we are done with the basic
animation so now what I can do is I
going to select this right click and
pre-con this let's call the animation
and it okay and I want you know to make
this edges of the chopper and to do that
we can add an effect called
bevel alpha let's add this you can see
right off the bat we get this really
nice and sharp edges so you can just
play around the setting maybe isolated
like dad you can see get this really
nice and sharp edges maybe a bit more
neatly around the intensity make it look
really wise I mean give it a very subtle
and play around the thickness I'm gonna
set this to where around 1.5 I guess you
repeated a bit just to see how to look
Gina colored is something that is read a
little bit read and yes doctors actually
looking pretty good
you see it's really option if you want
to add it but you can just play around a
point for and 32.4 make it a little bit
shop so there we go there we have our
phase ii animation let's pretty quickly
create a new solid so this is going to
be your background for VG hit okay and
add a whole color gradient changes to
something like maybe a dark pink color
and turn this all to half of new W thing
like that make all of you place it in
the position something like that just to
give a little bit of nicer background
you know another thing increase the
jitter amount to 20 percent and the
blend to 150 so we get rid of all the
color bendings bring this down and now
we have something like that it looks
pretty cool you'll need a good taco that
yep that is looking pretty good actually
let's add some glow to this animation so
we can add a glow let's set this to if
you run manifold soon maybe yep
and this thing it click the radius a lot
maybe run 150 I guess and the crease
intensity 2.6 should work good and that
is very good you can see difference
before and after glow works pretty good
actually on the suspect we see
the Akhtar is looking pretty good and
then it is duplicate this layer and head
out to bring down rotation property and
set this to maybe minus eighty one
eighty actually so now we have something
like that up as you can see it's really
simple to create nothing that difficult
but the effect looks really nice
refreshing and you know a nice fresh
look to it so nice and go ahead and
duplicate it just to make it a bit more
you know cool I could say change the
color so can see it and it displays it a
bit just like that and what I'm going to
do is I'm gonna add a tenth effective
school it's not a scent effect it ctrl C
to copy it paste it on this one as well
and what I can do is I can change the
amount of tint is 60% this one as well
and change the blending mode to let's
say maybe a soft light yep that is doing
pretty good and as you can see right off
the bat if I just place this below our
main animation let's see and you can see
right up the back really nice lines
right away oh it makes it look a bit
more interesting like that C looks
pretty cool it's pretty optional if you
one had it you can add it if you don't
it's still fine and you can see you can
get a little bit of color bendings as
well you can see and the things this you
can just switch to 16-bit and to do that
you can just hold alt and click right
away home and it's going to switch to
16-bit pixels which is which is going to
help us to get rid of all the color
bendings you see looks pretty good and
then you can add anything that you want
to add maybe you know kind of a logo or
a text is typing there's no singsong now
you can type in anything that you want
to go with
and change checks to something like let
me bullets unlined it in the center
chain this to you around Eddie
young duck is looking pretty good and
one effect that I'm going to add I got
requests I got this request for creating
this effect so I'm gonna do that in this
tutorial pretty quickly so I hope this
helps you out so what I'm going to do is
I'm going to go to animate and add an
effect called tracking not a respect
actually an animation property called
tracking and I can go right over play
around with my tracking you can create
this really cool effect so it's really
simple so now I said this is 0 so at the
very beggining maybe somewhere around
there create a keyframe go to movie 3
seconds and set this down there on death
like this it has kind of easy is I'm
going to round it off and just drag it
just like that now we have something
like that have call we need to place it
behind our animation compositions that
is the shapes say we have it let's
review it pretty quick you can see we
have this really cool opener and one
more thing that I could do is I could
create another object and add everything
to this knob
to add a little bit of scale animation
so on set this we 104 now go to 0 o
seconds and said this P 1 K so now we
have a little bit of scale animation
which is going to make it look a bit
more interesting as well you can see
looks really really nice
so it's a really simple effect but
really helpful to create some really
cool animation so I hope this video was
