hey guys what's up this is nickel from
dope merchants and welcome to this brand
new tutorial today we're gonna take a
look at creating this cool
sticky effect which I have named it as
the gummy hoop effect now I don't know
why I named it but I just did so yeah
it's going to be pretty fun today to
create this effect we will be using some
unusual you know what to say like
unusual effects which we don't hardly
use while motion graphics project so
yeah today we will be learning some cool
stuff so let's just get started pretty
quick so I'm going to first of all
create a new comp 1920 1080 I'll keep
the 30 frames and hit OK after that
first of all I'm going to create a new
shape layer with the ellipse tool so
drag this and hold alt and shift to go
make a precise circle and just make sure
that it's in the center just like this
and move that into point in the center
as well oh yeah it's in the center
pretty good then I'm gonna ctrl D to
duplicate this select both the circles
and hit P to bring down the position
properties and I'm going to select both
the position properties right click and
separate the dimensions cause we just
need to work with the exposition so for
that what I'm going to do is let's make
some room right over there I'm going to
click on the stopwatch of the exposition
go to let's say 1 second and I'm gonna
type in plus 300 and type in minus 300
now what this does is it's gonna move
the circle at the equal distance that
there is 300 pixels and 300 pixels in
the plus position and the minus position
you can see
so there we go and then I'm going to
select this get you to bring down the
keyframes and you select this keyframe
hit f9 to easy easy
then I'm going to find a good spot so
let's say I'll go to 10 frames and
create a keyframe like this then I'm
going to go to the graph editor now here
is where the magic happens now you're
going to take your time and edit it
precisely but I'm going to do it pretty
quick so I'll just drag this handle
right over there so that we get some
smooth animation and then I'm going to
select this handle and now I want my
circles to a little bit of oh shoot it
so to give that puppy effect popping up
you know so I just drag this handle out
so yep and then I'm going to drag this
then for them I want this to start
pretty smooth so let's just pretty
quickly see what we have yep looks
pretty simple and sweet now let's move
it a little bit out touch now you can
take your time you know make it look the
way you want yep I think it looks pretty
good
yeah I'm satisfied with this after that
I'm going to position the scale
properties of both of this because it's
very important to give that pop effect
so for that I'm gonna select this hit s
to bring down the scale properties and
make sure that the constraints are
unchecked so I'm going to go to let's
say false frame and click on the
stopwatch then I'm going to go to let's
say 10 frames changes to 1 10 and this
to let's say 90 and same with this one
10 and 90 there we go then I'm going to
come right over to there with the
objects you know the before fill it
better before the overshooting process
yep and I'm going to change this to 90
and this to let us change this to 95 and
this to 1:05 same with this then I'm
going to go right few frames forward
maybe right there and bring this back
200 there we go so now we should have
something which looks like as you can
see we're getting that pop effect so
make it easy edges cut at 9 and easy
easy so now we should have something
like this so you can see now we are
getting somewhere there looks pretty
good I'm pretty happy with this effect
so after that I'm gonna create a new
adjustment layer I just bent here and
now this is very important so what we
have to do is I'm going to add a fast
blow pretty quick and crank this up to
let's say 75 and then I'm going to add
an effect called levels and I'm going to
select the alpha mode and this crank
though whiteness and so now you could
get something like this now make sure
that you don't crank it up like this so
after that you can see we get some harsh
edges so we don't want that so I'm gonna
just give a little bit right over there
and there we go we have our basic effect
you can see that sticky effect so
business what helped us to make that
effect possible that you can see now to
make more realistic we're going to add
that holes that you see in the example I
show you pre quick
you can see the toads right there so let
us create that so for that I'm gonna
just go to about let's say ten frames
select the ellipse tool and put a shape
like this change the color so we can see
it there we go I make sure the anchor
point is in the center there we go I'm
going to place this right over there
then I'm going to control B duplicate
this and I'm going to just place it
somewhere else find a good spot that you
want just randomly I'm going to place it
somewhere right there now you don't need
to be precise at all then I'm going to
go to let's say right there and make
sure it's inside that group effect after
that I'm going to set a marker right
over there then I'm going to come to
let's say ten frames and I set a marker
right over there then I'm going to cut
this by alt close bracket close bracket
the left and right bracket ante so now
we have this but now we need to animate
this as well so for that I'm going to
select the holes all the layers of the
hoods and head on the scale properties
now before animation just make sure the
constraint probably uncheck and this
make them this randomly displays them a
little so that they don't look you know
pretty much the same for we want some
imperfection in it so I'm going to keep
it something like this or something like
just make sure that they don't look
pretty perfect yep then I'm going to
click on the stopwatch go to right over
there I'm going to scale this up
a little bit yeah so which you're not
something you can see we get the
stretching effect this is what makes it
look pretty good
as you can see so let's just select the
keyframe and have that night easy easy
there we go so now we should have
something which looks like this you can
see we are starting to get there of that
what we have to do is just select all
the holes and I'll just pre compose this
a name it holds there we go and I'm
going to change the mode to celebrate
alpha now what this does is it's going
to create a transparency so it's going
to look pretty cool and pretty awesome
actually pretty realistic as you can see
we have the transparency now you can add
it on any background and it will you
know we can see the visual background so
you can see it looks pretty realistic
okay
then I'm going to create calm this name
it finally come you can name it whatever
you want as usual then I'm going to drag
this comm right over there I'll just
name this the goop clump so that we can
figure out okay so we have a basic
animation so let's just pretty quickly
create a background leave it PG and I'll
make it let's say let's make it
something like this
okay then I'll also I'm also going to
add the little little strokes you know
because I want to make it look a little
bit cartoony time so for that what we
have to do is I just select another
color maybe I'm not liking this color
keep it white is so yeah we're going to
add some strokes so for that what we
have to do is I'm going to ctrl
duplicate this and
name this strokes and then I'm going to
add a fill effect to this so they just
feel pretty quick and add whichever
color you want keep it a little bit
reddish and then I'm going to add an
effect called minimax and then I'm going
to again add an effect which we call it
as the CC composite oh there you go so
now what this does is for support let's
see in the channel from color to alpha
I'll just solo it so you can see what's
going on I'm going to change this from
front to silhouette luma up so stencil
luma extends it up for the flash I
forgot oh yeah
the silver does actually and then you
can just crank this up and you can get
some cool strokes I'll just keep it at 3
you can see it looks pretty cool now we
get the strokes now we can't normally
add judge the stroke effect call if we
add it you're not going to get that
transparency you can see which we get it
sure you have you can see right over
there we will get just the stroke around
this edges so we don't want that we want
this too so you can keep it or you can
just you know give it this like this
this tool looks pretty good but I like
to give it just like that so after that
I'm going to just select the comp to
puts the GUP comp right over there and
just duplicate this we have just drag
this right over there and I'm going to
name this depth
okay so now we are going to add an
effect called bevel type in pair
oh yeah there we go
better alpha that's what we want it I'm
going to add this to our depth which you
have created right over there
and just make sure this increases me you
like this no it doesn't look that
realistic so I'm going to show you a
cool technique to how to make it look
pretty good so for that I'm going to add
a flower fast blur I don't want a tongue
is slipping so much today this cranked
up again you can see just like maybe
then I'm going to use the same technique
cc-come calls it I'm going to change
this to stencil of so now you can see
before after you get that cool fat as
you can see looks pretty good now the
reason I have created this duplicate and
added is that you can you know have a
particular thing in a particular column
so that you can adjust them pretty
easily so if I you know added so many
effects on a particular calm you have to
you know struggle a lot to find the
effect if you want to make some changes
in it so this can be very helpful so
create a multiple calm so that you can
edit later pretty easy so now you're
pretty close to what we want and the
last thing I'm going to do is I'm going
to select the blue pomp and add some
shadow to it so I'll just go right there
and then I'm going to increase the
distance see there softness something
like this yeah there we go so now we
should have something like hope
something like this you see it looks
pretty cool so the last thing which I'm
going to show you is how I made this
this line this pop-up lines which make a
comp look pretty good
so let's change this from total pop I'm
going to go to the main contact is a
book comp so I'm going to come right
over let's say they're select a pen tool
and I'm going to create a shape actually
with the pen tool so something like this
and give it a stroke of maybe 2 or 2.5
should look good yep there we go just
make sure it's right over there and move
the anchor point to the center just like
this and this is gonna make it tweet
that it looks good then I'm going to
just come down right over there we'll
shape with the strokes and I'm gonna
make it a rounded cap just to give it a
little bit of roundness to it and I'm
also gonna add shrimp pots there we go
oops fill this up and now you see as I
move this primp as you can see we start
to get that effect so I'm going to go
right over there
hit on the start stopwatch go let's see
around this just make this down to all
the way hundred go back right over there
this make some room right over there so
yeah I'm going to click on the end
stopwatch go right over there bring
forward and I'm going to make this down
to zero as well so now you should have
something like this you can see that
line the topping line that we need you
know so you know change this a little
bit if you want it's prickly selected in
this move I like this and it of f9
really easy now let's just
that at the point that we wanted to
happen so let's say I'm gonna go right
there there we go keep it right over
there maybe not there but something like
this now this looks pretty good so I'm
gonna change the color pretty quick to
the same color of the ball so there we
go
then I'm gonna control D to duplicate
this and rotate it I'm going to just
rotate it let's see like this displays
it somewhere around like this now you
don't need to be precise at all so it's
going to take place pretty fast so just
add is that little element you know then
look label to it to make it look more
cool more precise so take this up just
like this
these are the small elements which make
your project look pretty good you know
which much of it most of the time people
underestimate it but they are the the
key things to a project so now you will
get something like this yeah looks
pretty cool and you can see if I display
it you see it looks pretty good so if I
come to this comp should get that effect
so I'll just pretty quickly render it
there we go you can see it looks so much
realistic now and you can do the stuff
with anything you know like a text to
create some cool sticky titles and stuff
like that I'm just showing you the
concept so you can use your ideas and
make it look more you know more cool and
play around with it find some creative
