It's being a little under a year since we
started our channel we hit
10 000 subscribers and it's really all about
you so thank you so much
You know we are seriously humble and grateful
that you watch our videos for
Your commenting for your engagement that you
be a part of this community
It literally means the word to us and we wanted
to put this video out and just share that
4 take a ways growing from zero to ten thousand
in ten months
Number one
Which is ironic im talking about this because
number one is it's not al about the
Subscribers and views don't get me wrong I
appreciate every one of the ten thousand people
subscribed
to our channel but is easy for me to compare
myself to bigger channels you know
my wife and I Judy we have a vlog channel
that is over a million subscribers and
I get people all the time comparing themselves
to us and the one thing I like to tell
Is don't ever compare yourself to another
channel 'cause when it comes down to it it's
all about
the content you are delivering and the value
you give to people so are you helping people
are you informing people are you entertaining
people what is it that you are doing for the
people
and how much do they value your channel that's
way more important than how many subscribers
or views when it all boils down to every channel
is individual it's got it's own unique values
what's important to them and success it's
different for different channels

Secondly one for the things that we've learn
it's we've grown the 10 000 subscribers
as we've gone to interview a lot of youtubers
as well as entrepreneur and business owners
using video is that there's so much opportunity
still with online video you know
it can get discouraging it feel like it's
so crowded it is to some extend but in the
other side of
that there is still so much potential to build
niche content to build a niche channel
to build an audience around a focuses the
world is a big place and there's a lot of new
people coming
online everyday a lot of new people discovering
online video everyday and so there is tons
of
potential the ship has not sailed one of the
interviews we did Shay Carl said you know
online video
right now is just growing and it's like exponential
growth and a rising tide lifts all ships so
there is a
ton of opportunity to get in back to you

Lesson number 3 is community and what we mean
by that is engaging with your viewers
engaging with the people that watch you is
so important that's one of the reason we are
doing this video
we recently put out a survey to ask you guys
what was important to you guys about
what you want to see come out of video influencers
and that survey told us a lot about what we
are doing right
what we are doing wrong what we need to add
to our videos and again that's engaging with
you guys
and that's really important because you want
to understand what is good for your audience
you don't just want to just assume what is
good, I do believe it starts from a places
of passion
and skill and experience but also listening
to the audience because they might be telling
you
something that you don't realize and when
all boils down to it engaging replaying to
people's comment
listening to people's request and questions
and acting on that
And then lastly I think of the lessons we learned
specially over these last then months growing
Ten thousand subscribers is that it takes
Hustle we learned from the people that we
interviewed
That their story and their journey has being
a struggle and maybe they make it look easy
But they put in the time they put in the work
over years
Putting cheap foot cams on stacks of shoe
boxes because they don't have a tripod like
itsjudytime
And filming putting out videos when no one
is watching for year upon years to build an
audience
And over the last ten months we learned that
it takes hustle its taking time its taking
money
Its taking getting gear its taking travel I
look back to the last ten months and I'm like
this is serious work
This has taken serious time serious hustle
it's definitely been worth it but make no
mistakes it takes hustle
And so just a recap on what Benji said its
ultimately not about the subs some niches
are gonna have less subscribers but it can
be a very targeted and focus community of
people
That others so don't get wrap up ultimately
in your sub count
Number 2 there's still huge opportunity with
online video and more opportunity coming don't
get
discourage but develop a mind set that's ready
to jump on trends to look for the open opportunities
to open places that you can get tractions
with your videos
number 3 online video is all about community
We wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for
you
and with your audience with what you are doing
build a community engage take the time to
make
personal connections to comment back to comment
on other social media platforms
And number 4 never stop hustling if you have
passion for this and you love online video
like we do put in the hustle don't get discourage
keep going for it keep smashing it keep crushing
it
'cause it's worth it but you gotta hustle
