we're talking about today is what do we
need to do to transition to the new
versions of ISO 9001 quality
management systems and ISO 14001
environmental management systems so I'll
answer that question stay tuned so
thanks for joining us we've had a bunch
of questions this week and last week and
the week before over the last couple of
months about what do we need to do to
transition to the new standards so if
you've got an iso 9001 management system
or iso 14001 management system what do
you need to do to transition to the
standards so here's my top three tips
the first is get a copy of those
standards and have a read now the next
thing to do is jump onto our website to
our training academy and download the
free checklists that take you through
clause by clause the management system
standards to check if you've got
everything in place for those management
systems already and then the third thing
to do is have a think about annex SL
what's an access l you ask what happened
to the international standard is that
they have been restructured to follow a
common format across quality safety
environment information security and any
of the business management system
standards so what that does is it
restructures of the thinking around
quality safety environment to risk-based
thinking so what we are looking for here
at best practice is a stakeholder
analysis we're starting to think about
what are the quality risks safety risks
environment risks and then how does your
management system what you do on a day
to day basis control and manage those
risks so it's all about risk-based
thinking so that's new to the quality
management industry it's definitely
something that people have been doing
but it's new to the standard and it's
new to the industry so risk-based
thinking around the promises you make to
your customers what is it that we're
setting out to achieve and how we're
going to mint monitor measure and track
ourselves have a think about that it's
risk-based thinking and that's the
subtle change with the new standards
