Right now we're in a manufacturing
facility that does sheet metal
manufacturing and we've got a compressor
in the background that's giving us a ton
of grief
that's the compressor that drives the
brake press and also the laser so a
bunch of the equipment here is run by
that particular compressor that's given
us a lot of curry we try to shut most
of the factory down to do these videos
and that busted over there every time I
want to say something it it it kicks in.
As someone's doing the risk and
opportunity analysis in an organisation
if you've got equipment that you use in
your factory
they are engineering controls to achieve
an outcome in a process so don't go
write
unnecessarily policies and procedures
you know in risk and opportunity
analysis in ISO 9001 some of the
low-hanging fruit in identifying your
controls is that some of this equipment
that you've got in your factory or some
other software that you've got in your
business they're already in place
because you're already running and we
always have these conversations with our
clients that says you guys are
successful you're already operating and
that's why I've posed the question with
the plan-do-check-act model I don't
think it starts with plan I think it's
do check act plan you know do check act
plan because we're doing like this
particular factory that we're in today
it just started they didn't write plans
they didn't write documents they didn't
do all that sort of stuff they basically
said let's start and they want a job and
then they set themselves up and they did
some work and then they went oh actually
we could do that better then they asked
the question how are we going to do it
better in the future that was plan and
then I went then they went did the next
project it was faster more efficient all
that sort of stuff so you do have things
in your organisation that are already
management of risk and management of
opportunity management of opportunity
we've got an opportunity this is how
we're going to do it this is the way
we're going to go forward so look out
for those things in your organisation
and look for the things that you're
already doing to achieve your desired
outcome and then what we're talking
about is how can we enhance that.
