hey guys this is ask Wednesday this is
your day and today's question comes out
of our audience from a number of
different companies that I've been to
see in the last week and it's about how
do we get started in some of the
mistakes to avoid so that's what I've
got for you today stay tuned

Wednesday so the question today is
really about how do I you know what do i
do how do I get started what do I need
to manage what do I need to put together
from one management system and I've been
to see a whole bunch of clients in the
last couple of weeks on site visits
which has been really exciting but I've
seen this common thread and the common
threads really been we don't know what
to do
and look it's not rocket science and I'm
going to encourage you to all do this
you know what it's read the standards
and its do a bit of research just plan
the time sit quietly maybe it's in your
office maybe it's at your desk and sit
in front of the standards and read them
and I'm seeing it time and time again
people are just that they want all the
answers but they're not prepared to put
the effort in to put the hard work in to
do the reading so the reading is really
important I have to do it myself
so get yourself a copy of iso 9001 or
iso 45,000 won the draft standard or iso
14001 and have a read of that standard
it's not scary once you get into it so
have a rate of the definitions have a
read of some of the stages within the
standards and get an understanding and
if there's a specific question around a
part of a standard I'm always here to
answer that question and maybe you could
throw that out for ask Wednesday so
that's tip number one have already to
the standards tip number two is ask
Google so there's some great
opportunities there if you don't know
what to put in your policy a specific
policy that you might want to have which
is your quality policy your safety
policy your Environment Policy your data
security policy in terms of your systems
policies well google it and I've got a
tip for you click the images button so
Google Image Search and you're going to
see and it's you're gonna see what color
people have done and there's some great
ideas out there and maybe have a look at
three or four or five or six and you got
to get a good trend of what works and
what doesn't work and what's going to
sit well
with your organization so this has been
