the fusions bin system incorporates a
single area to easily add tools to a
project and to store favorites footage
and settings files let's begin to open
the bins from within fusion select the
bins icon from the view bar along the
top of the interface you could also call
the bins window up via a keyboard
shortcut control B once open you are
presented with an Explorer style window
with a hierarchy on the left side and
contents on the right the initial
library is located on localhost and has
categories from Clips compositions
favorites settings and tools selecting
any of these on the Left position of the
window will bring up the appropriate
contents on the right after the initial
installation of ion fusion most of the
categories will be empty except for the
tools selecting the tools lets you see
each of the subcategories and the
associated tools in each let's create a
new folder for a project browse to the
clips folder right click in the right
side of the view and choose new folder
name it something appropriate to add a
clip we can right click and choose add
item and browse to the file sequence we
wish to add or we can drag and drop the
clip or folder from Windows Explorer
once the clip has been added to the bins
by right-clicking and scrubbing with a
mouse we can view playback of the clip
in the fusion view if you wish to see a
thumbnail update as well right-click on
the clip and choose create stamp next
we'll take a tool from the bins and add
it to our composition in the flow view
select the tool in the bins and drag and
drop onto the flow area if you drop it
onto an unoccupied section of the flow
it will add the appropriate node if you
drop it onto an existing tool you will
be prompted to replace the tool when
dropping the tool onto an empty portion
of the flow you will still need to
manually connect the output from one
tool onto the newly added node we can
speed up the workflow here by dropping
the node from the bins to the view area
this will add the tool to the flow view
and connect its input to the output from
the currently viewed tool next we'll
take a tool from a project with specific
settings and set that as a favorite in
the bins system here in the flow we have
a channel boolean I want to configure
for a multiply operation as you can see
setting each drop down and naming the
tool can take a few seconds so by adding
this as a favorite we can eliminate the
set-up time once the tool is configured
we can drag and drop it into the
favorites portion of the bin Fusion
automatically knows we need to save this
as a settings file and pops up the
appropriate file requester and asks
where we want to save the tool settings
after entering an appropriate name the
tool is now in the favorites bin this
can now be accessed from a right-click
add tool menu you should now be able to
easily discern the fusion tool set and
work with organizing your media for
projects within fusion as always for the
