Bugs and Glitches in iMovie 10.0.1 | Tutorial 17 Video Lecture | iMovie Mac: Basics to Advanced - Professional Skills

hello ladies and gents row here and
welcome to nano films today I'm gonna be
continuing our iMovie tutorials and this
isn't much of a tutorial it's just I'm
gonna show you guys and them maybe
hopefully solve some of the problems you
guys have had this is basically solving
bugs issue and answering your guys's
questions tutorial so let me open up
iMovie here and this is the new version
of iMovie and some of us including me
have had a lot of bugs including like I
can sometimes I can't export sometimes I
can't import sometimes some people have
had their content library completely
missing that way only shows their
libraries and some people can't access
their adjustments and some people can't
even edit their texts so I'm hoping this
video here will answer most of you guys
questions and bugs and just give you
guys several options that you can try so
first things first I'm gonna start out
with exporting people that are having a
hard time with exporting most of the
time you'll either go to share and then
hit file or if file doesn't work you
should have to just hit and share file
and then go from there as in just I'll
show you right here change your title
and then change the quality of it you
don't need to add a theater unless
you're actually using theater and it's
skin make sure this is your footage here
and then hit next you know have you
choose where you want to stay exported
to normally I export it straight to my
desktop that way I can find it right on
my desktop and here we are that's how
you would share but if file doesn't work
sometimes you probably try one of these
iTunes you can download it straight from
iTunes or drag it from iTunes to your
desktop if you export it to iTunes and
then also you can just school do the
standard what was it YouTube and which
sometimes doesn't work as well but the
preferably one for me is a file file
which should work for everybody and then
if this share button doesn't want go if
it's blanked out you could also go to
file or let me see it here if I can find
it again
it was file share and then you have the
options here as well file share as file
or YouTube and that should work for you

either now import should be it's easy is
simple as you can click import and and
go from your desktop and find what you
want to import or from your your iPhone
or any device that you have connected
now also you can import by if you have
on your desktop let's say a footage you
can actually click on it and drag it
right into your project or into your
events lab Larry here which watch Lee I
suggest you drag it into your events
that way you can manually and choose
what parts of the video you want into
your project actually now next thing I'm
going to cover is the content library
some people have had a hard time with
content library I try to respond with my
best knowledge through the comments
section below but it was kind of quite
difficult so I'm gonna try again I'm if
your constant library is not here most
of the time you'll be able to have to
just go through here engine hills
instead of hide libraries and make sure
it shows it says show libraries make
sure it's there
or if it's not if it's already it says
hide lighters to click on it and let it
refresh and then go to window and then
show libraries again and maybe you'll
pop up with it for you now let me see if
you know most of the audio the let's say
you're missing something on here and
it's not working through here it will be
in this toolbar up here you'll be able
to do there's a second way around it and
sometimes there's like on iMovie go to
preferences you'll be able to actually
refresh iMovie which this one actually
doesn't have Africa this is the new
version I they changed a lot of things
but now let's say you got your
adjustments bar is hidden as well you
can go to show adjustment bar and it
will also bring it down that should work
for some people as well that's for
people who are having a hard time with
the adjustment bar and they can't find
it or get it to work and then an
additional function is the content
library let's say this is you don't have
this here you can also go down here it
shouldn't be great if it's grayed out
I'll show you guys in this tutorial what
you're most likely last resort is gonna
be but here you have your effects and
sound effects as well here for cotton
lab where you can click on titles and
bring up titles down here for you and
you can simply drag and drop now next
thing I'm gonna answer is the text let's
say I'm gonna drag in this text here and
just like I told you guys in the titles
and text video you can't actually you
okay you can double click on it you will
let you should let you change the text
of what it says in here
and just like that now let's say you
wanted to change the size of it you most
likely won't let you change the size of
the text so which is kind of sad I know
if it's a bug or not but if you want do
you want to change the size of the text
and you just go to the centered one
title and just drag it and drag it in
here and then now you'll be able to code
on that tee and now you can change the
font that size where you want to align
the and the color of it so that's and
there's other ones here down here that
will actually allow you to edit the text
as well but other than that that's the
only one that that I mainly use to
actually do that and let me delete these
if it lets me delete these delete there
we go I'll just keep that one there for
now no I'm gonna delete it but now
there's other problems that people have
had regarding like they can't click on
or use certain items it's it's kind of
kind of difficult to answer through the
comments so if you're having a lot of
these bugs and issues I suggest waiting
for an update because I know Apple is
currently working on an update they're
gonna hopefully fix some of the things
I've been a problem with and fix every
problem that you guys have been having
with because it's like as if they gave
you Andy gave us a beta or a trial
version of this iMovie so it's like it's
still in like a beta version it's
there's a bunch of bugs and glitches so
but other than that for the final resort
the final last resort if you still
having a problem with retried what I
just said trying to find an option
through here that will actually let you
go through and also if you haven't
updated like you'll say you had your
previous iMovie and you wanted to
transfer your imovie files from your old
the old version of imovie to this
version you'll have this option here
update projects and events and if that
crashes in the middle of it that's
that's not good that means you've lost
something some one of your files did not
go through all the way which is not good
so hopefully the way if you do do this
make sure it goes through all the way
and make sure your computer is connected
to internet and it's just it's just
running smoothly now you're for your
last resort like I said you can also if
you
make sure you if you have projects be
sure to back em up put them on an SD
card put on your desktop save them and
if you only have like one project you
could maybe save or you haven't even
done anything or you just have the
footage and you have animated project
you just make sure you save that data
before you do this last resort like save
it on your desktop save it on a flash
drive make sure you just you just have
it or if you have to absolutely no
projects or movies on your new iMovie
but you still have like all these
options and errors the last resort is
for you to like I said backup any data
so you don't don't lose the data what
you're gonna do is you gonna go to your
app store you can go search iMovie and
it should be free so I have it installed
already but the way you want to do this
is you're gonna want to delete this
iMovie so you're gonna go to your finder
you go to your applications and you're
gonna go we're gonna find iMovie and I
right click it and have moved to trash
and then you gotta empty your trash and
it's gonna be printed in the
administrator password to remove this
item and if it does allow you I mean you
just put in the password you should be
moves directly your trash and then go to
trash empty your trash that way you'll
be completely gone off your computer now
this is like I said don't do this unless
you like you want to risk of maybe
losing stuff but if you back up
everything but on your desktop or put it
in a flash drive you should be fine you
because then you'll be able to put it
right back on to your new iMovie now go
back to the App Store and then download
the iMovie and it should be able to
easily download it will come back or
straight back onto your your
applications and your bet to launch it
it will launch in any old actually if
you had the old version iMovie you'll be
able to do the update projects any event
so we'll just transfer everything for
you automatically and then it should fix
everything and if it doesn't if that
didn't work then the only thing I could
suggest is just waiting for an update
and hopefully Apple will somehow fix it
or cuts and contacting Apple support in
person and they'll probably just connect
straight to your computer and help you
out with that but er than that I hope

somewhat and like I said only use the
deleting iMovie and reinstalling it as
the last resort thank you guys for
