Slow Motion; Fast Forward and Reverse Speed in iMovie 10.0.1 | Tutorial 26 Video Lecture | iMovie Mac: Basics to Advanced - Professional Skills

hello ladies and gents row here and
welcome to a normal films today we'll be
continuing our iMovie tutorials and in
this tutorial particularly we're going
to be covering slow motion
fast forward instant replays and in
Reverse I'm actually going to try to
take it a little bit slower in this
tutorial because I know I've been really
speeding through tutorials it's just I
like to keep them within a certain
minute range but other than that let's
just begin I got my iMovie in my
libraries my iMovie project and here we
are just what we've all been making
tutorials on lately and have like a
basically a sample of every tutorial in
here almost but for today's tour I'll
actually be messing with one certain
clip my very first clip here and what
we're going to do is to start off we're
going to use the how do you fast forward
in slow motion I'm going to show you
guys all those tools and how would you
find those but what you want to do is
first the one of the ways you can do is
simply right-click the clip that you
want to change the how it's going to
like how fast it moves or how slow it is
it is but as you can see right now it
will play at normal speed and just goes
on I don't have audio on it currently
because I as you can see here I tuned it
down for the tutorial purposes so I'm
going to right click the clip here
select clip right click it go down to
speed editor so what I did was I right
click the clip and I went down a speed
editor and if you're using command keys
you can use command R and it will
actually do the same thing and you don't
now you'll see this little bar up here
above your clip and what you're going to
do is you want to drag that a little bit
not just like dragging it along makes it
slow motion and dragging it really small
makes this really fast now I'm going to
do is I'm actually can drag it just a
little bit now I'm hit this rabbit here
right in the middle of our clip and
that's not going to do is put pull what
that's going to do is pull up our speed
editor and now we can actually go to we
make a custom above 100% makes it fast
forward below 100% makes it slow motion
so we go to present we just use the
defaults here if we click 25% 10% as you
can see our clip you see and longer make
it making it extremely slow and if you
look at the clip here now I click on the
clip and play the clip and as you can
see I'm moving in frame by frame really
slowly
and now we're going to go to speed it's
like really fast but 20 times is not
available since this is only a seven
second clip they don't probably the only
ones kind of let's do is four times so
here you are four times fast and here on
my plate a clip as you can see it is
definitely much much faster now
what I'm going to do is I'm actually I
click on the rabbit again go back to
100% cook this off right click my clip
again and I'm going to go to if it lets
me do it here real quick I'm just simply
want to right click my clip and I want
to go to hide speed at it now it's going
to remove that bar above my clip and
what I'm going to do now is gonna slip
the clip but I'm gonna go to modify the
stem at the top right at the top of my
screen there's more options here you can
there you got the slow motion options
which is this is the most common one
used here if you go up to modify it's a
lot easier through here I would say and
you go slow-motion you can do how slow
you want it to be fast forward by 2
times 4 times 8 times 20 times you go
instant replay and you can change like
how like how slow you want instant play
instant replay most of the time you want
it slow motion you don't want to
fast-forward it and I'll show you guys
it's instant replay we're going to go a
slow motion I selected the clip I want
so I'm going to modify and I go instant
replay 50% as you can see adds this
extra clip here but it's it's half the
speed of my first clip so as you can see
right here I'll show you this guy's
instant replay and this instant replay
thing pops up at the top right hand
corner as well which is a really cool
feature if you're doing some sort of a
cool
awesome clip in one or instant replay of
it but I just hit a pansy there to undo
that because I do not really want to do
that now we're going to go back to
construct I click go to modify now we
got the rewind as well which is actually
basically rewind your clip and then
reset speed speed now I'm gonna do is
I'm gonna rewind 1 times and it will
basically you'll notice I'm going on
it's going backwards the clip now well
it doesn't really seem like it's going
back with because it's just me talking
and actually looks like it's normal but
it's actually going in Reverse but my
hit command Z to undo that as well
hyde speed editor and now the other
thing is I'm going to right-click the
clip again go to show speed editor and I
click on the center of the clip and
we're going to go to Reverse
now you'll notice that this clip is
actually in Reverse now it's playing
backwards you probably won't notice much
difference because it is actually me
talking and like I said earlier it
doesn't really look like I'm doing it
reversed but that it Depp the clip is in
Reverse now you click backing uncheck
that reverse checkbox and now it'll be
normal again
we had that's that's it of the
fast-forward slow motion and out instant
replay the speed and change the speed of
the clip and other than that because
