Duplicate Clips in iMovie 10.0.6 | Tutorial 67 Video Lecture | iMovie Mac: Basics to Advanced - Professional Skills

collusion gents rope here and welcome to
norman films today we can continue our
iMovie tutorials and in this tutorial
are going to cover how to duplicate a
clip and there's actually a couple ways
you can do this one of the options
actually is kind of grayed out and I
don't understand why but I'm sure I'll
figure it out as we go along but let's
just jump right in going to open up
iMovie the latest version and we're
going to go into our iMovie tutorial
event and into my tutorial project which
is in within their event and we have
several Clips here that we've used
within our previous tutorials so to
duplicate a clip all the best way I do
it is I hit command C on your keyboard
just hit command C which will basically
copy the selected clip so make sure you
have it selected first and also you can
select multiple clips to by holding the
command option but let's just stick with
command C for selecting one clip and
hitting command C to copy and otherwise
you can go up to the very top here and
go to edit and hit copy basically when
you have the clip selected and then you
can hit command V to paste it again now
you got the same duplicated exact same
quote right next to each other or in the
other hand if you don't have the quickie
you can go to paste and the end add edit
paste and it will paste that other one
there for you now since I like to go
fast so I do command C and then command
B to command C to copy command V to
paste now another way you can duplicate
this is if you hold the alt or option
key on your keyboard and then you simply
click on a when click and drag that's
basically it that's all you have to do
so you hold the Alt + alt / option key
and then you just click and drag and it
will duplicate that clip for you right
there automatically with without any
issue now there's another way here if
you go to edit
there's also duplicate which is for me I
don't know why it's grayed out also I've
I tried like selecting different Clips
here go and edit there we go there we
are there yeah I knew I'd figure it out
but you see you stuck a clip within a
project for example that image and you
go to edit the duplicate is grayed out
but
let's say you got your event i toriel
not just the event where your call your
clips are that you've imported into that
event for example this image go to edit
you can hit either command D for the
quickie or you just hit duplicate movie
in this case this is just an image and
it'll just duplicate it right into the
event for you so that's that's another
way to duplicate images / movies sure
