Layout Guide of iMovie 10.1 | Tutorial 75 Video Lecture | iMovie Mac: Basics to Advanced - Professional Skills

continue on films today we're going to
continue our iMovie tutorials in this
tutorial we're going to cover the new
layout of the new iMovie 10.1 and I was
about to say 10-point 0.1 but if it's
10.1 let's jump right in and open up
iMovie here and as soon as you open it
up it's gonna be basically it will
update your libraries and everything it
will take a little bit to go through its
motions but let it do that don't
interrupt it and they should all come
out perfectly fine and I'm gonna beat em
by one just to show you guys I'm gonna
go iMovie about my movie I am ring and
version 10.1 as soon as you start it
should put you right here in this window
you know probably bring up a pop-up box
saying that it now supports 4k 1080p HD
what 60 frames per second supports all
these additional atom things which is
honestly really cool it I'm glad they
actually give you access to that with an
iMovie I personally now use Final Cut
Pro so which I highly recommend but I am
going to continue keep updating iMovie
because it is still one of my favorite
video editing programs on a map now
let's jump right in and talk about the
three tabs right here top media
basically this will going to be a sum of
all of your media that I've imported
basically images and videos clips short
gifts anything like that all will be in
here you can import them the same way by
eating either hitting that little import
button or import them by simply creating
a new movie now moving on to our before
going to projects happen over a theater
tab and that this is basically what all
everything syncs up you can make
everything you can export it to theater
basically you can use iCloud to share it
amongst all your devices through iCloud
now finally the projects tab is the one
the most important times you will you'll
find all your projects here I don't have
that many no longer an iMovie but
because I like I said it transferred
over to Final Cut I'm gonna go ahead and
go to my original project which is my
tutorial that I've made all my tutorials
in and as soon as you double-click it'll
take you to this new type of look and
layout it it honestly it's not really
that new it's just they just moved one
main thing around which is the content
neither which is now available to you at
the very top here as you can see it
right here and you can just switch
through these tabs by
sound effects broadband titles and in
backgrounds and in transitions as well
all your content library items are up
here top now you can also import more
media straight into your project and
then you also you can show and hide the
media content which is this section here
by using this tab on the left now also
your your older editing options can be
here to the top right you'll be able to
find those but now they'll be grayed out
because I don't have anything selected
but once you select a either a clip or
an image for example you'll now have
access to these actual editing options
and then that's the basics of the new
layout you guys be sure leave any
