Reduce Volume of a Split Clip in iMovie 10.1 | Tutorial 79 Video Lecture | iMovie Mac: Basics to Advanced - Professional Skills

to long films today we're going to
continue our iMovie 10.1 tutorials and
in this tutorial I'm going to show you
guys how to reduce the volume in a
portion of a clip not the entire clip or
video but just a portion and adjust its
volume so let's go ahead and open up
iMovie I'm here in my project and I have
a clip here with a full audio table now
what we're gonna use is you can either
go out to the very top and hit modify
and go to split clip now it will split
the clip right where you have this side
timeline and the line right there it
will split it right then just like that
now for a short cut like this you can
just hit command B on your keyboard
right person right here and it will do
the same thing now you have three
separate clips from one clip now from
here you can adjust that one clip that's
the middle it's volume according to
whatever you want it to be okay now now
you have three different clips and the
middle one here has a different volume
portion you can also have its fade in
and fade out as well from at these each
ends so be sure to take advantage of
that and let's do that again real quick
you just select a portion here for
example let's say I want to split the
audio right here a command B to split it
right there and then I want the audio to
go low for example right here command B
now we have another clip just by itself
now it's just the audio by going to this
very bottom bar and moving it up and
down to how much volume you want you can
go 400% order to go just a little bit
just like that that's the basics of this
