Sound Effects in iMovie 10.1.2 | Tutorial 83 Video Lecture | iMovie Mac: Basics to Advanced - Professional Skills

hello ladies and gents row here and
welcome to normal films today we're
going to continue our iMovie tutorials
and in this tutorial I'm going to make
an updated version discussing audio
effects sound effects and iTunes and
GarageBand all within iMovie and how you
can apply them as well let's go ahead
and launch iMovie just to start and I'm
here in my project I'm going to watch my
tutorial project by simply
double-clicking it within my tutorial
instead of my media we're gonna go to
strict the audio tab on the right hand
side I already have some footage
imported so go ahead and do that um you
will need some footage go to the Audio
tab and under if you do not have this
pane open here you have this little
option here to open up this little pain
but you'll have a three audios here
iTunes
sound effects in GarageBand if you don't
use GarageBand and you don't make any
personal creative sounds um
then GarageBand really there will be
empty for example like nine is empty
here but first we're gonna start off
with iTunes since I only have two songs
right here that this drop down menu
you'll be able to find all your
playlists within iTunes not only I've
recently actually create updated my
solid-state drive so my music is kind of
gone but here's the two songs all you
gotta do is simply click and drag and
you can drag the entire song you may
also skim your audio up here at the top
before dragging it in if you're looking
for a particular portion of the art but
other than that you can drag and drop it
and put it straight into the audio box
of your audio moving on to the sound
effects there will also be a drop down
menu here as well for you and you'll be
able to find your iLife sound effects
Final Cut Pro if you have Final Cut Pro
but if you keep it under effects you can
actually from here you can search for
example switch search for car sound so
type in car and they'll come in and put
the cartoon and then there'll be a bunch
of other here's your crash sound sports
car racing you could double click it to
listen to it or preview it up here as
well and then simply drag and drop it to
place it into your our actual project
and now Garage Band I've already covered
and there's another issue that's been
going on is if you don't even have
sound effects option here and most of
the time that is because GarageBand is
you might have just recently purchased
your computer or you do not have
GarageBand at all on your computer so I
do recommend to go into your launch pad
and searching for GarageBand
or you can go to top right-hand corner
and go to spotlight search and then
search GarageBand and then you can also
find it in the App Store if you do not
have a purchased and you can purchase it
from there for $5.00 but since I have it
I can go ahead and double click it and
if you do have it let it apply all the
sounds will say you need to install all
these sounds and run all these sounds or
go ahead and do that and then then make
sure I movies closed during this time
relaunch iMovie and the your sound
effects and I laugh sound effects should
be applied there within as well be sure
