hey guys amp here bringing you another
affinity photo tutorial and in this
tutorial we're going to be learning
simple gradients and how to effectively
use simple gradients so I have my image
right here of this sort of futuristic
looking house and we're just going to
add a gradient so you can come down and
add a new pixel layer which will appear
right here and then come over to your
toolbar and select gradient now I'm just
going to sort of go straight up and down
and add it like this and right now the
layer is not transparent so it's just
going to show up as this white and black
gradient so what I'm going to do
actually first is come up here and
change the colors of the gradients to a
more Peecher auburn color so you come by
here and choose the second color make it
a good deep pink ish right here
and then I'm going to come back over
here and you can choose all of these
different blend modes to add your
gradient and some really effective ones
are average and hue is pretty good soft
light overlay color blur can be
effective and overlays probably the best
so we're going to select overlay and you
can even change these to different types
like conical makes it sort of a Gakona
shape there's bitmap which isn't really
terribly useful it's for like other
images you can do a radial which is like
from the center and you can use this to
add sort of lighting effect up
I am just going to stick with linear
right now and what you can do is add
things like a sort of shading effect for
drawing would be so you can add depth
and perception I sort of made it like a
sunset kind of mood you can even drag
the opacity down to make it a bit more
believable and make it blend a little
more but I here's it with whoops there
we go here's it without the pixel layer
and here's it with the pixel layer so
you can really change a lot of things
you can change how far the middle slider
goes which means how far the colors will
blend so it's not directly in the middle
so if it's in the middle pink and orange
or pretty even you can slide it more
towards orange or more towards pink or
whatever colors you choose but that's
just a simple gradient tutorial there's
going to be more in depth gradient
