Ans. A solid is a state of matter in which particles are closely packed together and have a fixed shape and volume. The particles in a solid vibrate in place but do not move around freely.

Ans. A liquid is a state of matter in which particles are close together but not as tightly packed as in a solid. Liquids have a definite volume but can change shape to fit the container they are in. The particles in a liquid are able to move around and flow past one another.

Ans. A gas is a state of matter in which particles are far apart and have no definite shape or volume. Gases can fill any container they are placed in and can expand to fill the entire space. The particles in a gas move freely and quickly in all directions.
| 5. What causes the change of state between solid, liquid, and gas? | |
Ans. The change of state between solid, liquid, and gas is caused by the addition or removal of energy. When energy is added to a solid, it can melt and become a liquid. If more energy is added, the liquid can evaporate and become a gas. On the other hand, when energy is removed from a gas, it can condense and become a liquid, and further removal of energy can cause the liquid to freeze and become a solid.
