Detailed Solution for AWES TGT Maths Mock Test - 4 - Question 1

Visual Impairment: The term 'visual impairment' is used to refer to not only those who are blind but also those who have their own vision. When the person has residual vision above a certain level, he is said to have low vision or poor vision. However, if the residual vision is below that level, he is considered to be blind.

Important Points

In a classroom situation, the total number of blind students should be 10-12, so that teacher can adopt the strategies which cater individual differences in the class.

Strategies to teach blind students in the classroom:

  • Teachers who teach blind children in ordinary classrooms need to provide adequate special materials and equipment. There is almost universal agreement that the special materials and equipment needed by a visually impaired student in a regular school are essential to success.
  • In addition, Friendly user materials are good teaching materials for blind children, and creative materials which are provided to blind children enhance dialogue and social interaction to complete an assignment.
  • Students with visual impairments who's knowledge of concepts are strong would have difficulty keeping pace with this rate of instruction unless it is entirely verbal.
  • Purposeful sampling was used to select teachers who teach blind children in ordinary classrooms. Legibility for teacher’s participation in the study was based on the following criteria:
    • experience in teaching blind children with their distance vision assessment results indicating that they are blind with (visual acuity of (3/60 or worse).
    • Teaching ordinary classrooms,
    • fully attending school at the time of the study, and
    • gender balance was desirable but not necessary.
  • The teacher who is guiding the blind children in ordinary classrooms is supposed to know more than the blind pupils who are being guided, that is why very many blind children have fallen victims to wrong teaching. Guidance is needed for blind children since they can hear, it is easy for them to learn.

Hence, we can conclude that in a classroom situation, the total number of blind students should be 10-12.

Indian education structure and management were guided by New Education Policy, of 1986 for a long time (almost 34 years). In the meantime, a lot of changes have taken place globally as well as a debate has also emerged in India about a ‘Bharat-centric’ policy on education.

  • In order to look into those, a new committee was set up under the chairmanship of Dr. K. Kasturirangan in June 2017. After reviewing the suggestions, the committee finalized the policy under the name National Education Policy, 2020 on July 29, 2020.

Key Points

Major recommendations of the policy were -

  • The aim of equity and inclusion is now at the heart of the new NEP so the classroom should be inclusive.
  • Ensuring universal access at all levels of schooling from pre-primary school to Grade 12.
  • Ensuring quality early childhood care and education for all children between 3-6 years.
  • New Curricular and Pedagogical Structure (5+3+3+4)including foundational, preparatory, middle, and secondary.
  • Establishing National Mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Emphasis on promoting multilingualism and Indian languages.
  • Exposure to vocational education in school and higher education system.
  • Focus on Formative and Diagnostic Assessment.
  • Setting up multidisciplinary education and research universities(MERUs).
  • Setting up of National Research Foundation(NRF).
  • Multidisciplinary approach and focus on creative and divergent thinking.
  • Experiential learning using previous knowledge and experiences.
  • Teacher Education - 4-year integrated stage-specific, subject-specific Bachelor of Education.

Hence, it is concluded that all the above options are correct.

AWES TGT Maths Mock Test - 4 - Question 4

Which term is often used interchangeably with the term 'Motivation'?

Detailed Solution for AWES TGT Maths Mock Test - 4 - Question 4

The term used interchangeably with 'Motivation' is 'Need'.
Motivation is a term that means the motive behind something. It means a person wants something, has a desire for something, wants to avoid something, and wants to escape from something. AWES TGT Maths Mock Test - 4 - Question 8

If the circles x2 + y2 + 2ax + b = 0 and x2 + y2 + 2cx + b = 0 touch each other, then

Detailed Solution for AWES TGT Maths Mock Test - 4 - Question 8

Since the circles touch each other, equation of the common tangent is S1 – S2 = 0 ⇒ x = 0.
Putting x = 0 in the equations of the circles, we get y2+ b = 0.
This equation should have equal roots ⇒ b = 0.
Hence (c) is the correct answer.

AWES TGT Maths Mock Test - 4 - Question 30

Directions: In the following questions, a statement of assertion (A) is followed by a statement of reason (R). Mark the correct choice as:

Assertion: If the product of the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial x2+3x+5k is -10 then value of k is -2.
Reason: Sum of zeroes of a quadratic polynomial ax2+bx+c is -b/a

Detailed Solution for AWES TGT Maths Mock Test - 4 - Question 30

Both the assertion and the reason are true, but the reason provided is related to the sum of the zeroes, not their product. The correct explanation involves the formula for the product of the zeroes of a quadratic polynomial, c/a, which would lead to 5k/−10, hence determining the value of k.
