• अनुकरण वाचन- आदर्श वाचन (शिक्षक द्वारा किया जाने वाला वाचन) के पश्चात् छात्रों द्वारा कक्षा में किया जाने वाला सस्वर वाचन अनुकरण वाचन कहलाता है। अनुकरण वाचन एक प्रकार का सस्वर वाचन है।
• वौयक्तिक वाचन- एक बालक अथवा व्यक्ति द्वारा किया जाने वाला सस्वर वाचन वौयक्तिक वाचन कहलाता है। यह एक प्रकार का निदानात्मक परीक्षण भी है। वौयक्तिक वाचन के द्वारा शिक्षक बच्चों की उच्चारण संबंधी त्रुटियों का पता लगाकर उनका उपचार करता है।
