The United Nations member states are the 193 sovereign states that are members of the United Nations and have equal representation in the UN General Assembly. The UN is the world's largest intergovernmental organization, ahead of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. UN welcomed South Sudan as 193rd Member State on 14 July 2011.

Every 24 October, the United Nations Day is celebrated all over the world to commemorate the anniversary of the official creation of the United Nations through the 1945 UN Charter.

The ILO was located in Geneva in the summer of 1920 with France's Albert Thomas as the first Director of the International Labour Office, which is the Organization's permanent Secretariat.

Currently there are 193 member nations of the UN. The latest addition was done in July 2011 when South Sudan became the 193rd nation to join the UN. In addition to the 193 members, there are two observers which are Holy See and the Palestine Liberation Organization.

The first session of the General assembly was held on 10th January, 1946 at the Methodist Central Hall in London.

Membership of the United Nations Security Council is held by the five permanent members and ten elected, non-permanent members.

The main organs of the UN are the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council, the International Court of Justice, and the UN Secretariat.  All were established in 1945 when the UN was founded.

The World Bank focuses on poverty reduction and the improvement of living standards worldwide by providing low-interest loans, interest-free credit, and grants to developing countries for education, health, infrastructure, and communications, among other things. The World Bank works in over 100 countries.
