India itself is a mega biodiversity country. Large number of different kinds of plants and animals are found in India. India hold sixth position on the list of mega biodiversity countries.

Red data book contains information about endangered species. These species are present in less number and declining at alarming rate.

The term BIODIVERSITY was first coined by the entomologist E.O. Wilson in 1986. A neologism from biology and diversity, it refers to the variety of life on the planet.

Explanation:- The white tiger is not a separate subspecies and therefore not in danger of extinction, they do not live anywhere on the globe where their white coloration would help them survive, they do not have a native habitat, they are severely inbred and therefore have severe health problems, and they are cross-bred.

The dodo (Raphus cucullatus) is an extinct flightless bird that was endemic to the island of Mauritius, east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean.

Ecosystem is the functional unit of biosphere. All ecosystems are inter connected and inter related with each other. Flow of energy and nutrients takes place through food chain in ecosystem.

Satpura national park is the first forest reserve of India. This reserve forest is located in Madhya Pradesh state.

Teak is one of the best quality of wood used for furniture due to durability and strength. Finest teak of India is obtained from forests of Satpura.

Project tiger was launched by Indian government on 1st April 1973 to control the fast decreasing number of tigers in different forest in India.

Mega biodiversity countries are those countries in which different varieties of plants and animals are found. Argentina is not included in the list of mega biodiversity countries.
