• The Deccan Plateau is a large plateau in western and southern India.
• It rises to 100 metres (330 ft) in the north, and to more than 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) in the south, forming a raised triangle within the South-pointing triangle of the Indian subcontinent's coastline.
• It extends over eight Indian states and encompasses a wide range of habitats, covering most of central and southern India.
• The Deccan Plateau is a triangular landmass that lies to the south of the river Narmada.

Jog Falls, also called Gersoppa Falls, cataract of the Sharavati River, western Karnataka state, southwestern India.The Jog Falls are located 18 miles (29 km) upstream from Honavar at the river's mouth on the Arabian Sea.

• Two great rivers run through China Proper:
  1) The Yellow River in the north, and the
  2) Yangtze (or Yangzi ) River to the south.

A hill is a land surface that rises higher than the surrounding area. Generally, a steep hill with an elevation of more than 600 metres is termed as a mountain.

A horst is an elevated part of the earth's crust that rises between two faults. A horst is higher than the land around it.

The Aravalli range are the oldest fold mountains in India. The northern end of the range continues as isolated hills and rocky ridges into Haryana state, ending in Delhi.

• They are less steep and not as high. But, like a mountain, a hill will usually have an obvious summit, which is its highest point.
