FAQs on NCERT Textbook: Bubbles - NCERT Textbooks & Solutions (Class 1 to Class 5) - DSSSB TGT/PGT/PRT

1. What are bubbles?
Ans. Bubbles are thin layers of liquid enclosing air or any other gas. They form due to the presence of surface tension, which causes the liquid to pull itself into a spherical shape.
2. How do bubbles form?
Ans. Bubbles form when air or gas is trapped inside a liquid and covered by a thin film of the liquid. The surface tension of the liquid keeps the bubble intact and gives it a spherical shape.
3. What causes bubbles to pop?
Ans. Bubbles pop when the thin film enclosing the air or gas bursts. This can happen due to various reasons such as exposure to heat, sharp objects, or simply reaching a point where the surface tension can no longer hold the bubble together.
4. Why do bubbles float in the air?
Ans. Bubbles float in the air because the gas inside the bubble is lighter than the surrounding air. This difference in density causes the bubble to rise and float in the air.
5. Can bubbles be formed with any liquid?
Ans. Bubbles can be formed with any liquid that has a suitable surface tension to hold the air or gas inside. However, some liquids, like water, have stronger surface tension and are more likely to form stable and long-lasting bubbles compared to others.
