Ans. Electric field lines are a visual representation of electric fields. They have several characteristics: they begin on positive charges and end on negative charges, they never intersect, and their density indicates the strength of the electric field-closer lines represent stronger fields. The direction of the lines shows the direction of the force that a positive test charge would experience.
5. What is the principle of superposition in relation to electric fields?
Ans. The principle of superposition states that the total electric field created by multiple charges is the vector sum of the electric fields produced by each charge individually. This means that if there are several charges, the net electric field at a point can be determined by calculating the electric field due to each charge at that point and then adding these vectors together, taking into account their directions.
