Why do we have
Government?
All of us need basic things like
drinking water, electricity, roads,
transport, schools, colleges, and
hospitals.
These are called civic amenities or
public utility services.
In our country, the government
provides these to the people.

committee (nagar palika or nagar nigam).
Municipal committees are responsible for managing smaller
cities.
Members of the committee are elected by people living in
the city.
The city is divided into wards for the election process.
