Statements
Expresses a fact or opinion in 
a straightforward manner. 
These are the most common 
type of statements used in 
everyday communication 
and academic writing.

the Sun. " or "I believe this 
book is interesting. "

Negative Statements
Positive statements affirm 
something while negative 
statements deny it. 
The negative form usually 
uses "not" or "never" .
