Use these as a guide to check your work or inspire your own creative answers!
Solution to Activity 1: Create a Number Story
Task: Write a short story using 5 numbers between 1 and 100, and draw a picture
of one number character.
Sample Solution:
• My numbers: 12, 25, 50, 75, 100
• My story: One sunny day, number 12, a cheerful sparrow, ?ew to meet number
25, a clever fox. They found number 50, a wise old tree, who told them about a
treasureguardedbynumber75,abraveknight. Together,theyreachednumber
100, a golden castle, and shared the treasure happily.
• My drawing: [Imagine a sketch of number 12 as a sparrow with wings shaped
like the digits 1 and 2.]
Solution to Activity 2: Spot the Pattern
Task: Fill in the missing numbers in the sequences and create a new pattern.
Sample Solution:
a) Sequence: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12
• Explanation: The pattern increases by 2 each time (2 + 2 = 4, 4 + 2 =
6, etc.). So, 8 + 2 = 10, and 10 + 2 = 12.
b) Sequence: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60
• Explanation: The pattern increases by 10 each time (10 + 10 = 20, 20 +
10 = 30, etc.). So, 30 + 10 = 40, and 40 + 10 = 50.
c) My own pattern: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30
• Explanation: This pattern increases by 5 each time.

Solution to Activity 3: Number Art
Task: Choose a number, draw that number of stars, circles, or hearts, and explain
why you chose it.
Sample Solution:
• My number: 15
• My drawing: [Imagine 15 stars arranged in a spiral pattern.]
• Why I chose this number: I chose 15 because its my favorite number, and its
the number of candies I got at my birthday party!
Solution to Activity 4: Number Hunt
Task: Estimate and count the number of items around you, then compare.
Sample Solution:
• Item: Books on my shelf
• My guess: 20
• Actual count: 18
• Was your guess close? Why or why not? My guess was very close! I counted
a few extra books because I thought there were more on the top shelf.
Solution to Activity 5: Solve and Create a Riddle
Task: Solve the given riddle and create a new one.
Sample Solution:
• Riddle: "I am a two-digit number. My tens digit is 4, and my ones digit is 5
more than my tens digit. What number am I?"
• Answer: 49
– Explanation: The tens digit is 4. The ones digit is 5 more than the tens
digit, so 4 + 5 = 9. The number is 40 + 9 = 49.
• My riddle: I am a two-digit number. My ones digit is 3, and my tens digit is
2 less than my ones digit. What number am I?
– Answer: 13 (Explanation: Ones digit is 3, tens digit is 3 - 2 = 1, so the
number is 13.)
