Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follow:
Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring change. Learning is more than absorbing facts, it is
acquiring understanding. - William Arthur Ward has expressed ‘to a T’ the true meaning of teaching; it is to
continuously polish one’s expertness to reach the zenith of perfection. The creation of an excelling tomorrow
lies upon the teacher. So the sole job of a teacher is to mould the minds of the future generation. If you want to
excel in the task of being a good teacher then there is a list of facts you must get used to. Now there is a
sincere effort for upgrading teaching techniques, which can be more effective with the appropriate involvement
of students and teachers. Nowadays, many schools have turned to child-centric learning for indulging the
children. This kind of upgraded technique not only includes the active participation of the children but it also
attracts their interest. A good teacher plays the important role of an educator, a guide, an inspiration, and a
friend while gently helping the 'slow learners' climb the steep learning tree and also engaging with the 'bright
minds' delve deeper into knowledge and concepts and thereby meet their need to be ahead of others.
In a classroom there are students with different learning abilities and the teacher faces a formidable challenge.
But the teachers tap the little minds of young children and plant the seeds of curiosity and knowledge in them.
This inculcates the values of self-learning, exploration, and philosophical inquiry. Each child must be allowed to
work through his/ her individual will and truly understand the new facts according to his/ her own unique way
and capabilities. A teacher helps her students learn some of these things about each other, especially the
strengths and hopes. Always keep in mind that there is nothing in the environment that the child cannot see or
touch or play with. All the equipment should be scaled down to the child's reach. An ideal classroom should
have a frank, productive atmosphere where joy and education meet together. A good teacher learns all she can
about their academic strengths and needs, but even more about their interests, fears, hopes , and worries. You
must learn how to create such an enriched environment full of freedom and activities where intellectual
development can spontaneously ourish . A good teacher knows his/ her students on many levels. She helps
her students learn these things about themselves. A teacher is someone who has an anity with the students
she is teaching. But to be a successful teacher who can identify with the aspirations and diculties of his/ her
students, you need to get a teachers’ training course, which would help you achieve your professional grail.
