More electronegative atoms like N,O,F and Halogens present in a group or in combination wirh a carbon atom ,then it shows -I effect.Remember, presence of -I group increases the acidic strength of the acid as it stabilises the conjugate base and a +I group decreases the acidity of the acid by destabilizing the conjugate base.
