The child was denied everything by his parents. why then his love for...
The child had come to the fair with his parents to have fun and to enjoy the festive spirit like others. Although he wanted to have many things at the fair, he knew that he could not have them because his parents disliked those things. Although he was denied everything that he asked for, his love for them did not lessen. He enjoyed the natural beauty and satisfied himself by simply looking at the things he liked but could not have. He accompanied them obediently and did not throw any tantrums or compel them in any way to buy him sweets, garlands, balloons etc. His deep love for them can be seen when he gets separated from them. He misses them terribly and feels lonely. At that time his only concern is to get them back.

The Lost Child: Why Did His Love for His Parents Not Lessen?

The Lost Child is a short story written by Mulk Raj Anand. It revolves around a young child who accompanies his parents to a fair but gets lost amidst the crowd. Throughout the story, the child's love for his parents remains unwavering despite their denial of his desires and wishes.

1. Deep Emotional Bond:
The bond between a child and their parents is often deeply emotional and unconditional. The child's love for his parents is rooted in this bond and is not easily affected by external circumstances, such as being denied everything.

2. Unconditional Love:
Children possess an innate ability to love unconditionally, regardless of how they are treated. The child in the story loves his parents unconditionally, without expecting anything in return. This love transcends material possessions or the fulfillment of desires.

3. Dependency and Trust:
Children are dependent on their parents for their well-being and survival. They trust their parents to provide for them and make decisions on their behalf. This dependency and trust create a deep emotional connection, making it difficult for the child's love to waver despite being denied everything.

4. Lack of Understanding:
The child's love for his parents may not lessen because he may not fully comprehend the reasons behind their denial. As children lack the maturity and experience to understand complex emotions and circumstances, they often attribute their parents' actions to love and care rather than denial.

5. Emotional Resilience:
Children have a remarkable ability to bounce back emotionally from difficult situations. The child in the story may have developed emotional resilience, allowing him to withstand the disappointment of being denied everything and maintain his love for his parents.

6. Focus on Positive Memories:
The child's love for his parents may remain unchanged because he focuses on the positive memories and experiences he has had with them. These memories overshadow the moments of denial and create a strong emotional connection that persists despite any hardships.

In conclusion, the child's love for his parents in "The Lost Child" is not lessened by being denied everything because of the deep emotional bond, unconditional love, dependency, trust, lack of understanding, emotional resilience, and focus on positive memories. Despite the denial of his desires, the child's love for his parents remains unwavering and unconditional throughout the story.
