Some of them believe that democracy is political system where decisions are made by people and chosen representatives have mandate to do whatever it needs to make it happen, not way around.

Emerge and gain power in Sweden?
The Social Democrats emerged and gained power in Sweden through a combination of factors and historical events. Here are some key factors that contributed to their rise:
1. Labor Movement: The growth of the labor movement in Sweden during the late 19th and early 20th centuries played a crucial role in the emergence of the Social Democrats. Workers began organizing themselves into trade unions and demanding better working conditions and social reforms.
2. Formation of the Swedish Social Democratic Party: In 1889, the Swedish Social Democratic Party (SAP) was formed, representing the interests of workers and advocating for social democratic policies. The party quickly gained support from the working-class population.
3. Universal Suffrage: In 1909, Sweden introduced universal suffrage, allowing all adult citizens, including women, to vote. This gave a significant boost to the Social Democrats, as they could now appeal to a larger electorate and advocate for progressive policies.
4. Welfare State Building: The Social Democrats focused on building a comprehensive welfare state, which included policies such as universal healthcare, education, and social security. These policies resonated with the population, especially the working class, and helped the Social Democrats gain support.
5. Strong Leadership: The Social Democrats had strong leaders like Hjalmar Branting, Per Albin Hansson, and Olof Palme, who played crucial roles in shaping the party's ideology, policies, and electoral success. They were able to rally support and build a broad coalition.
6. Economic Development: Sweden experienced rapid economic growth during the mid-20th century, known as the "Swedish model." This growth was characterized by a strong welfare state and a mixed economy. The Social Democrats were seen as the party that could manage and distribute the benefits of this economic growth to all citizens.
7. Consensus Politics: The Social Democrats, at times, followed a policy of consensus politics, forming alliances with other political parties to maintain stability and govern effectively. This approach helped them stay in power for long periods and maintain popular support.
Overall, the emergence and rise of the Social Democrats in Sweden can be attributed to their strong ties with the labor movement, their focus on building a comprehensive welfare state, effective leadership, and the favorable economic conditions during the mid-20th century.
