The microorganism is small living creatures that are invisible to our naked eyes. Microorganisms are useful in many ways except some disease-causing.
Uses of microorganisms:-
1. Microorganisms are used in the manufacture of bread, curd and other beverages, e.g.lactobacillus responsible for curd formation.
2. Yeast is used commercially for alcohol and wine production. It is also used in the baking industry for preparations of bread and cakes.
3. Bacteria are present inside the gut and they aid in the process of digestion e.g. E.coli.
4. Microbes are used in the preparation of antibiotics (penicillin notatum) , vaccines which are prepared by a weakening of harmful microorganisms.
5. Microorganisms are acts as environment cleaners by the process of bioremediation.
6. Microorganisms help in nitrogen fixation which increases the soil fertility .eg. Azotobacter, Rhizobium.
7. Microbes help in sewage treatment eg. Pseudomonas.
8. Microbes help in the production of biofertilizer and pesticides.
9. Microbes help in recycling of vital elements.
10. Microbes help in the production of enzymes and acid
