To find:
Radius of anion

Solution:
Face-centred cubic unit cell has 4 atoms, 1 at each corner and 1 at the centre of each face.
Rock salt structure represents the arrangement of cations and anions in a cubic close-packed structure.
In rock salt structure, the cations occupy the alternate corners of the cube and the anions occupy the remaining corners and the centre of each face.

Radius ratio of cation to anion in rock salt structure is √2:1.

Formula to calculate the edge length of the unit cell:
a = 2√2r

where,
a = edge length of the unit cell
r = radius of the anion

Formula to calculate the radius of the cation:
r_cat = 0.5a

where,
r_cat = radius of the cation

Substituting the given values in the above formulae, we get:
a = 508 pm
r_cat = 110 pm

r = (a/2√2) = (508 pm/2√2) = 181.16 pm
r_anion = (r_cat/√2) = (110 pm/√2) = 77.94 pm
