Verified Answer
Which of the following statements are correct?(i) Human body is a good...
(i) Human body is a good conductor of electricity.

This is correct; the human body is conductive due to its water and electrolyte content.

(ii) The air gap surrounding an electric circuit acts as a conductor.

This is incorrect; air is generally an insulator unless ionized (like in a spark).

(iii) Silver conducts electricity better than any other metal.

This is correct; silver has the highest electrical conductivity of all metals.

(iv) When electricity lights up a bulb, no heat is produced.

This is incorrect; some heat is always produced when electricity flows through a bulb.

Based on this analysis, the correct statements are (i) and (iii), which means the answer is 3 (i) and (iii).

Which of the following statements are correct?(i) Human body is a good...
Human body is NOT a good conductor of electricity. In fact, our body is a poor conductor of electricity. When electricity passes through our body, it can cause harm or even be fatal. Our body can conduct electricity to some extent, but compared to metals or other conductive materials, it is considered a poor conductor.

The air gap surrounding an electric circuit does NOT act as a conductor. Air is an insulator, which means it does not allow the flow of electricity. In fact, insulators are used to prevent the flow of electricity and to provide safety in electrical systems. The air gap acts as a barrier and prevents the flow of current between conductive materials.

Silver is indeed one of the best conductors of electricity among metals. It has a lower electrical resistance compared to other metals, which means it allows electricity to flow more easily. However, it is not correct to say that silver conducts electricity better than any other metal. Copper, for example, is also an excellent conductor of electricity and is commonly used in electrical wiring.

When electricity passes through a bulb, it produces both light and heat. The electricity heats up the filament inside the bulb, causing it to glow and produce light. However, a significant amount of heat is also generated in the process. In fact, incandescent bulbs are known to be quite inefficient, as a large portion of the electrical energy is converted into heat rather than light. LED bulbs, on the other hand, are much more efficient and produce very little heat.

Based on the explanations above, the correct statements are:

(i) Human body is a good conductor of electricity. - Incorrect
(ii) The air gap surrounding an electric circuit acts as a conductor. - Incorrect
(iii) Silver conducts electricity better than any other metal. - Incorrect
(iv) When electricity lights up a bulb, no heat is produced. - Incorrect

Therefore, the correct option is (c) (i) and (iii).
