What is common between the trachea of rabbit and cockroach ?[CPMT - 81...
The common feature between the trachea of a rabbit and a cockroach is that the walls of both are strengthened, which prevents them from collapsing.

Explanation:
1. Trachea in Rabbits:
The trachea in rabbits is a part of the respiratory system and is responsible for the transport of air to and from the lungs. It starts in the head region and extends downwards into the thoracic cavity. The trachea is composed of cartilaginous rings that provide support and prevent collapse. These rings are incomplete, with the posterior part being composed of smooth muscle. This arrangement allows flexibility and ease of movement during respiration while maintaining the structural integrity of the trachea.

2. Trachea in Cockroaches:
Cockroaches also possess a tracheal system for respiration. Their tracheal tubes are composed of chitin, a tough and flexible material. The tracheal tubes run throughout the body of the cockroach and supply oxygen directly to the tissues. Similar to the rabbit, the tracheal tubes in cockroaches are reinforced by chitinous rings. These rings prevent the collapse of the tubes and maintain a constant supply of oxygen to the tissues.

Common Feature - Strengthened Walls:
The common feature between the trachea of a rabbit and a cockroach is the presence of strengthened walls. In both cases, the walls of the trachea are reinforced to prevent collapse. This is crucial for the efficient transportation of air and oxygen to the respiratory organs or tissues.

Significance:
The strengthening of the tracheal walls ensures that the airways remain open and unobstructed during respiration. It allows for the smooth passage of air and oxygen exchange, facilitating efficient respiration. Without the reinforcement, the trachea would be prone to collapse, hindering the flow of air and compromising respiratory function.

In conclusion, the common feature between the trachea of a rabbit and a cockroach is the presence of strengthened walls, which prevent collapse and ensure efficient respiration. This adaptation allows for the smooth passage of air and oxygen exchange in both organisms.
