A cylindrical vessel of radius r is filled with a homogeneous liqiud to a height h. If the force exerted by the liqiud on the side of the vessel os equal to thre force exerted by it on the bottom of the vesse then a)h=r b)h=2r c)h=r/2 d)h=3r/2?
Most Upvoted Answer
A cylindrical vessel of radius r is filled with a homogeneous liqiud t...
Pressure = * h* g
and pressure on vertical surface = (1/2) * h* g
Now according to the problem

Force at the bottom = force on the vertical surface
hg * * r²  = (1/2)hg * 2** r*h
h = r

Hence height will be equal to the radius of vessel.
