Which of these statements is NOTTRUE?a)Air is not matter as we cannot ...
Statement A: Air is not matter as we cannot see it.

Explanation:

Air is a mixture of gases that surround the Earth. It is composed of several different gases, primarily nitrogen (about 78%), oxygen (about 21%), and small amounts of other gases such as carbon dioxide, argon, and water vapor. While air is invisible to the naked eye, it is indeed matter.

What is matter?

Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. It can exist in three states - solid, liquid, and gas. Matter is made up of tiny particles called atoms and molecules.

Atoms and molecules:

- Atoms are the smallest particles of an element. They are the building blocks of matter and cannot be divided further without losing their properties. For example, oxygen gas is made up of two oxygen atoms (O2).
- Molecules are formed when two or more atoms join together chemically. For example, water is made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom (H2O).

States of matter:

- Solid: In a solid, the particles (atoms or molecules) are closely packed together in a fixed arrangement. They vibrate but do not move around freely.
- Liquid: In a liquid, the particles are still close together, but they have more freedom to move around. They can flow and take the shape of their container.
- Gas: In a gas, the particles are far apart and move freely. They have no fixed shape or volume and can expand to fill any container.

Conclusion:

Statement A is not true because air is indeed matter, although it is invisible to the naked eye. It is made up of different gases, which are composed of atoms and molecules. Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space, and air fits this definition.
