12 = 2 x 2 x 3 (1)
18 = 2 x 3 x 3 (2)
LCM = 2(common from (1) and (2)) x 2(from (1)) x 3(from both (1) and (2)) x 3 (from (2)) = 36
here we tried to take common elements out first which are
a '2' and a '3'
So common elements multiply to 2x 3 = 6
Remainder from after taking out common from(1) = 2
Remainder from after taking out common from (2) = 3
we are finally left with (common elements) x (remainders from (1)) x (remainders from (2)) = 6 x 2 x 3 = 36
