A wholesaler sells a jacket to a retailer at a profit of 25% and the r...
Let the cost of jacket to wholesaler be Rs. ‘x’
Profit of wholesaler = 25%
Cost to retailer = selling price of wholesaler = x + 25% of x = 1.25x
Profit of retailer = 20%
Cost to customer = selling price of retailer = 1.25x + 20% of 1.25x = 1.5x
⇒ 1.5x = 2400
⇒ x = 2400/1.5 = 1600
∴ Cost of jacket to wholesaler = Rs. 1600
