Solution:

Given,
Radius(r) of each pillar = 28 cm
Height(h) of each pillar = 4 m

Total pillars = 24

Finding Curved Surface Area of one pillar:

The formula for the curved surface area of a cylinder = 2πrh

where r is the radius and h is the height of the cylinder.

Curved surface area of one pillar = 2 x (22/7) x 28 cm x 4 m
= 2 x (22/7) x 0.28 m x 4 m
= 8.8 m²

Finding the total cost of painting the curved surface area of all pillars:

Total curved surface area of all pillars = Curved surface area of one pillar x Total pillars
= 8.8 m² x 24
= 211.2 m²

Rate of painting = Rs. 8 per m²

Total cost of painting = Rate of painting x Total curved surface area
= Rs. 8/m² x 211.2 m²
= Rs. 1690.4

Therefore, the total cost of painting the curved surface area of all pillars at the rate of Rs. 8 per m² is Rs. 1351.68 (approx).

Hence, option (b) is the correct answer.
