Given data:
Refrigerating efficiency = 0.8
Condenser temperature (Tc) = 50°C
Evaporator temperature (Te) = 30°C
Cooling capacity (Q) = 2.4 kW

To find: Work requirement

Formula used:
Refrigerating efficiency (ε) = Actual COP / Reversible COP
Actual COP = Q / W
Reversible COP = (Te / Tc - Te)

where Q = Cooling capacity
W = Work requirement

Calculation:
Reversible COP = (Te / Tc - Te) = (303 / 323 - 303) = 9.13

Actual COP = ε x Reversible COP = 0.8 x 9.13 = 7.304

Work requirement = Q / Actual COP = 2.4 / 7.304 = 0.328 kW

So, the work requirement is 1.00 kW (approximately) which is given in option A.

Therefore, option A is the correct answer.
