Group QuestionAnswer the following question based on the information g...
Total number of passengers in the train = 20 x 10 = 200
Since the number of passengers in any one compartment is to be maximized and every compartment has at least 12 passengers,
minimum number of passengers that can be present in the remaining 9 compartments =12 + 13 + 14 + 15 + 16 + 17 + 18 + 19 + 20 = 144
∴ Maximum number of passengers that can be accommodated in the 10th compartment = 200 - 144 = 56.
Hence, option 3.
Note: Here, the 10th compartment does not necessarily imply compartment number 10. It just means one of the 10 compartments.
