A hicker stand on the edge of the cliff 490 m . according to question , stone throw horizontally u = 15 m/s . and a = 9.8 m/s^2 , now we use 2nd equation of motion , s = 1/2 ayt^2 ( ball fall vertically ) . 490 = 1/2×9.8×t^2 ;; t^2 = 100 ;;; t = 10 sec.. I Hope it help!!
