Let present age of A and B is 4x and 5x.
18 years ago their ages;
(4x – 18)/ (5x – 18)=11/16;
Or, 64x – 288= 55x – 198;
Or, 64x – 55x= – 198+288;
Or, 9x=90;
Or, x= 90/9=10;
Sum of present ages= 40+50
=90 years.

Given: Ratio of ages of A and B = 4:5
18 years ago, Ratio of ages of A and B = 11:16

Let the present age of A be 4x and present age of B be 5x.
18 years ago, the age of A was (4x - 18) and the age of B was (5x - 18).

According to the question,
(4x - 18)/(5x - 18) = 11/16
=> 64x - 288 = 55x - 198
=> 9x = 90
=> x = 10

Therefore, present age of A = 4x = 40 years
Present age of B = 5x = 50 years

Sum total of their present ages = 40+50 = 90 years

Hence, the correct answer is option A.
