Suppose the average of the cricketer after 10 innings was ‘x’;
∴ Total runs scored by him after 10 innings = 10x;
In the 11th inning, he scored 108 runs;
∴ Total runs scored by him after 11 innings = 10x + 108;
∵ his average is increased by 6 runs after 11th inning;
∴ (x + 6) = (10x + 108)/11
⇒ 11x + 66 = 10x + 108
⇒ x = 42
∴ New average of the cricketer = 42 + 6 = 48
