If P = (1, 0), Q = (–1, 0) and R = (2, 0) are three given points...
We have P = (1, 0), Q = (– 1, 0), R = (2, 0)
Let   S = (x, y) ATQ   SQ2 + SR2 = 2SP2
⇒ (x + 1)2 + y2 + (x – 2)2 + y2 = 2[(x – 1)2 + y2]
⇒ 2x2 + 2y2 – 2x + 5 = 2x2 + 2y– 4x + 2
⇒ 2x + 3 = 0 ⇒ x = – 3/2
Which is a straight line parallel to y-axis.
